whats with Little Jacob's little attitude about the ashes?

If Jacob wanted the ashes without problem why wouldnt he just show up as older jacob and say "Hey Hurley.. I need my ashes bro."

And on that note why would he say those ashes anyway? as opposed to "My ashes"

Didn't Ilana say that he was trapped in Locke's form, I don't think that he can play that game anymore. And this isn't the first time we have seen the young Jacob running through the jungle. MIB saw him earlier in the season, I think we are seeing some sort of projection of Jacob. Perhaps MIB broke a rule we are unaware of and this is the consequence.

Yeh, I think we are about to be played....in a very terrible way...but I've been on this board too long and I know Illana will be called a liar first rather than people believe that this boy is not Jacob.

I projection/ghost thing is a valid out for me. However, no way projections can pick up things....I really don't believe Ghosts can either....if they could why would they bother with Hurley...they would just do the things themselves.

I don't think the rules can be broken. They can be tweeked but not broken.

Ok, so you see it as more of a sign of desparation by Jacob. Drastic times demand drastic measures and all that.

Heres yet another theory, I just thought up....its even further out there. What if John Locke really WAS his candidate, and killing him doesn't change anything if his body is "incarnated". In other words what if Jacob is literally growing up to take back John Lockes body away from Smokie and move John Locke from Smokies control to the candidate he was meant to be anyways. Reincarnation sort of "in place" as well.

They have so many directions they can take this stuff in.

Its hard to explain its so far out there. :p

Smokie as Locke but only for a certain time.
Locke is still the candidate so Jacob is slowly growing inside of Locke to take Lockes body back over. So when Smokie uses Lockes body its a "stop watch" of sorts. He kills all the candidates, he doesn't need to be Locke anymore and he wins. However, if he doesn't, every second he spends as "locke", Jacob grows to take over the body.

You have to puff or take two drinks before you read this theory. :D

But, my theory of the show has no problem with the boy going back and forth between Jacob and Locke, because philosophically Jacob is John Locke the philosophy. So, it is also possible that TPTB are simply giving us a another hint and opening the komona to the shows basic premise from my perspective disguised as an ACE even.

The Source can also bring about rebirth, that is what Crazy Lady claimed, so if Jacob's ashes were thrown into the Source could he not be reborn? That is possibly why Ilana grabbed the ashes in the first place. Crazy Lady saw her demise coming maybe Jacob saw his coming and had a contingency plan in place that included chucking his ashes into the Source.

Just a thought.
