a few people asked on one of the who is on the boat type threads. someone mentioned that a member of the crew sat in for jacob in season 3. others were not aware of this and wanted a link to some more info on it.

The guy who played Jacob is Rob Kyker. Prop master for the show, voice was done by someone else...

I've thought this for several months and I wholeheartedly agree. I'll add something on - remember that ring of dust around Jacob's cabin in "The Man Behind the Curtain"? I think that is either the Smoke Monster itself (in inactive form) or a way to enslave Jacob (like he can't step beyond it or some such).

yeah my immediate reaction to that was that its trapping jacob but now i wonder if its trapping everything on the other side of it! or protecting jacob!
