If ben deliberately knew that Goodwin was going to be killed by the losties, does anyone think he intended for same thing to happen to Ethan? Why? Ethan was their best surgeon/ doctor.

I think there was danger for both of them. But Ben had Ethan come back to camp and left Goodwin with the Tailies even after the main goal was accomplished. Had he pulled him back earlier he would have lived. I dont think he ever planned on bringing goodwin back and letting him eventually get caught then killed.

We keep assuming that Ben told the truth that the tailies killed Goodwin. Maybe it wasn't them but Ben had his guys kill him instead to send his message.

Ben seems to know what the future will hold. It seems likely that if he knew Goodwin would die, then he must've known that Ethan would die as well.

This was an interesting twist. Originally I thought Ben was picking his two best "soldiers" for the mission. Now it looks like he was sending a couple of guys he wouldn't mind losing.

I think he did send his two best soldiers. But like I said before after they got the job done he brought Ethan back but basically left Goodwin out there knowing eventually he would be caught.

The whole Anna Lucia thing wasn't planed at first. But! He did send Goodwin on a dangrous journey on purpose. As far as Eithan Goese. I belive he was just one of the top picks to go. Kinda like it's always Jack ,Kate ,Sawyer,or Sayid that go on hikes.

I belive later Ben found out what type of people where in the taile section. He knew that Anna Lucia was a good choice in getting his plane to kill Goodwin. So when Goodwin asked him about Anna Lucia joing the Others he ok'd him to pursue her. even though deep down he knew she wouldn't join but rather fight Goodwin

I use to wonder if Goodwin had really meant to harm Anna. But then I remembered good ol Nathan in the pit. Goodwin just twisted his neck like it was nothing. Goodwin was probably in a position where he flet he had to kill Anna because she was so dogged determined to solve the puzzle. He did have Juliet to get back to afterall. But Ethan, I think he crossed the lines in his I'm getting Claire back and that's it! Ben let that play out. I think he had it in for Goodwin knowing Anna wasn't going to come play nice.

as i recall ethan kept going back and forth while goodwin was left for dead... when they first showed the plane ripping apart and ben sending ethan and goodwin out again, i immediately thought "wow, he sent goodwin to be killed"... i think eventually ethan was just pushing his luck and it finally caught up with him but at least Ben brought him back into the fold whereas he never gave Goodwin a chance to get out of that situation

HAHAHA It wouldn't surprise me if Ben somehow got jealous of Ethan and suspected him of taking 'what was his' HAHAHA! The great thing about this episode is that you can look back on the old ones now and fit the missing pieces.
