Enjoying this season but also have a few gripes, dont want to moan to much as i am enjoying it and there is still 2 and half hours left (including adverts). It has certainly been fun to watch but i do feel a little cheated.
1) I think it would have been nice for some of the season 6 stuff, the source, the young boys, the candidates, lighthouse or cave etc.. to have been mentioned or something in past seasons as one that would of been more interesting come season 6 and two it would of made it look less like the writers have been making it up as they go along. e.g. in some of the earlier seasons we could of had different people seeing the blond haired kid (jacob) and the dark haired one (MIB), jack could of said these skeletons have been here for thousands of years, maybe a reference to the source.
2) the answers that we have already been given for some of the mysteries seem really cheap. E.g. the black rock smashes the statue which breaks its and then it ends up in the middle of the island, due to a tsunami (even though in season 5 we saw the black rock a mile or 2 away from from sure it was daylight and the sea was as calm as can be), the whispers, oh there just dead people who cant move on - i dont mind that as an answer but if thats it and they dont elaborate on it any more then ill definatly thing that one liner from the Ghost of Michael was cheap, adam & eve, again a good answer but it didnt fit in with the Jack saying for clothes to depcomose like this iw ould say they have been here 50 years but really it was 2000. Christian being MIB was also a let down for me but i might be alone on that one.
3) the amount of questions left to answer in the finale, that to be honest i think we all know are probly not going to be answered.
The below areas/questions are what would annoy me if they are not addressed, i could go on for ages and ages and lists of questions but these are the main ones for me and most people i know.
Whispers - I would definatly like to see this elaborabed on more.
Statue - Why is they a masisve statue been built on the island & who built it?
Numbers - Jacob picked some random numbers for our remaining candidates but why did the Darma use these numbers
Cabin - How can it move, who was sitting in it the first time & then the second with Christian
Island - healing properties, lockes legs, rose cancer
Time Travel - Lots of Shady areas here in my opinion - one in particluar, when ben truned the wheel he skipped 10 months of his life & then when locke turned it he skipped 3 years of his life, why did only the losties travel through time?
Pregancy - WHy do all the women die who conceeved on the island?
How does all the Flashing off the plane thing work? why didnt sun flash off the plane with Jack & co and go back in time 30 years, i know it made the storyline good having jack and co back in the 70's but you cant just say they fly to the island and when they are vertually there some of them just dissappear off the plane and go back in time 30 years and some dont without an explanation.
Would defo like so more island history, who built the temple, how can it heal people, whats with are the Hieroglyphs, tunnels, etc..
Orchid/FDW - Why so cold down there, why do you turn it and it pops you out in tunisia, how can the island even be moved using a wheel?
We always wanted to know how Jacob was like he was, not aging and influencing people etc... and we know its becuase his 'mother' gave him all her powers of protecting the island, to me thats fine but its not an answer, surely they have to explain how she got the way she did.
anyway the list could go on, i just hope most of these are addressed even though i doubt they will be.
let me know what you think?
p.s. i only get angry because ive got like 5 or 6 friends who all started watching lost from the start and season by season they have all stopped watching it saying that they are making it up as they go along etc and half the questions probly wont be answered and from season 3-5 when they stopped watching it i would literally start to argue with them when they say things like its made up as it goes along and i stick up for the show saying in season 6 70-80% of questions will be revealed, and they just laugh at me and say ok if that helps you sleep at night.
And now with the finale to go, how stupid do i look for saying that and there all saying told you so.....

Whispers - I would definatly like to see this elaborabed on more.
What is there to elaborate on? They're just ghosts that can't move on.
Statue - Why is they a masisve statue been built on the island & who built it?
Seems Egyption to me. After seeing Across the Sea it seems to imply that lots of people have come to the island, so they don't really have to show it.
Numbers - Jacob picked some random numbers for our remaining candidates but why did the Darma use these numbers
I think it's really just a coincidense that Dharma would use them. If you watch the alternate reality game videos with Alvar Hanso, you'll get a better understanding.
Cabin - How can it move, who was sitting in it the first time & then the second with Christian
I think it was MiB both times, though I think it is possible that the first was only a part of him. Perhaps he needed Claire to break the ash ring so he could be whole again.
Island - healing properties, lockes legs, rose cancer
Jacob seems to be able to do this, but I think MiB was the one who made Locke heal and made Ben sick in order to make Ben jealous. As for how, it seems to do with electromagnetism.
Time Travel - Lots of Shady areas here in my opinion - one in particluar, when ben truned the wheel he skipped 10 months of his life & then when locke turned it he skipped 3 years of his life, why did only the losties travel through time?
I think it's a bit random, and that's just how it works. As for the Losties travelling and not the Others, I think it may have had to do with having been to the temple? Not sure.
Pregancy - WHy do all the women die who conceeved on the island?
I'm thinking it had to do with the Incident, though Alex and Aaron were still born. After hearing Jacob say they were brought to the island because of their flaws, perhaps this was Juliet's "test", like Charlie with his drugs or Hurley with his food, or Jack and his faith.
I think that, because MiB was the one to really cause the time travel, and appeared to Locke in the well back when the statue still stood, MiB has some control over what time periods the Losties are in. Thus, he might want Jin and Sun seperated.
Would defo like so more island history, who built the temple, how can it heal people, whats with are the Hieroglyphs, tunnels, etc..
Again, many different cultures coming to the island, joining the others, power from Jacob and within the cave.
Orchid/FDW - Why so cold down there, why do you turn it and it pops you out in tunisia, how can the island even be moved using a wheel?
As was said by Cheng in the Orchid orientation video, as well as in the intro to season 5, there's exotic matter, probably coming from the light, and it has the power to control time. The Casimir effect would stabalize a wormhole to send both the island and the mover to different places. MiB defines it in simpler terms.
We always wanted to know how Jacob was like he was, not aging and influencing people etc... and we know its becuase his 'mother' gave him all her powers of protecting the island, to me thats fine but its not an answer, surely they have to explain how she got the way she did.
If they answered stuff about her, they'd have to answer stuff in her own story, and so on, etc. It'd get way off topic.

thanks for your input, but like i said im after answers, not opinions. ANyone could guess the answers, i have a few thoughts myself but some things in my opinion have to actually be answered in the show.
Why the cabin can move around the island?
I could say i think MIB has the ability to move cabins
, but 75% of the show is based up mysteries and to keep you hanging on for the answers to pivital questions and because of that reason i think we deserve answers to most of the things i have put.
- the whispers, i found this intreuging for the season 1 of lost and have been waiting all this time for an answer, i get one and just think it didnt explain very much, why cant they move on? why are they whispering when things happen, Ana Lucia shooting Shannon etc...? what are they trying to say? what need to happen for them to be able to fully move on and be at rest?
- the statue - i can understand your point there i spose, its just you see a big statue with a crocadiles head and it makes you wonder, we know it is tawaret but they havent even explained this in the show!
- Numbers - Out of every number possible to pick from, the same 6 numbers Jacob assigned to the remaining candidates were the exact same numbers the Darma used in the Swan - coincidence, tell me you dont really believe that, im sure the odds of it being a coincidence are the same as winning the lottery.
- Cabin - I always thought it was MIB to and he was trapped in there but when they revealed it was Christian i didnt see how this was possible, If it was only a part of him then they should explain that to us. As for the second time there was Christian and two other men in there, who were they?
- Island - I can buy the answer to this as it being Jacob/MIB as i think it pretty much showed you he has powers e.g. when he touched locke after being pushed out the window and he cameback to life.
- Time Travel - Your answer made me laugh, i think its just a bit random, ha , no way am i buying that as a solid reason in the show, and dont think the temple had anything to do with others not skipping though time as some of them were not at the temple.
- Pregnancy - Dont really udnerstand your answer, why would the incident make pregnant people die? Again they made such a big deal about this for the entire show (bar season 6) that i am not happy at guessing the answer.
- Flashing off the plane - your answer doesnt make any sense with this one, surely, if MIB is in 2007 he would like them all in 2007 with him so he could kill them, or all in 1977 so there was no-one to kill and he could just leave the island, either i dont think and would put money on it that MIB does not control time travel and who does or doesnt flash off the plane.
- Island History - this is only my preference and im guessing there were eygytians but would of just been nice to know where it all started.
- Donkey wheel/Orchid - again would just like a bit more information on this, why do they pop out in tunisia, err... becuase that the exit if you turn the wheel, but WHYY???!! perhaps there isnt an answer to this one really other than because they do!
- Mother - Agreed if they went into detail with her it would/could get out of hand and get off topic. but i always wondered what made Jacob not Age, Answers been protector of the island and his mother passed her powers onto him when drinking the wine, that hasnt exactly answered the questiont hough, all that has done was just put the same question on to someone else, i suppose that it not so much an unanswered question but more a mystery (why jacob doesnt age) and they have gave you the cheapest answer ever. Because he mom didnt and she gave him wine which made him not age, they could of dome something along the lines of going into the source and it giving him immortality etc.. (but obviously if they did this they couldnt answer the black smoke the way they did)

Yeah, let's see if/how time travel is explained.
TPTB are such cheeky monkeys. It's their show. I have watched since "The Pilot."
I don't expect answers. Just have most everything left open to the imagination.

Yeah, I just figure it's too late to get all the supposed factual answers, so we may as well have fun making up answers ourselves.
Back on the topic of the Losties flashing off the plane to '77, I think he was hoping they would die in the Incident, which Richard told him he saw happen when Sun asked if he remembered Jin being in Dharma. Maybe that was his way of knowing for sure if they'd died??
No, it was only Claire in the cabin with Christian, I'm pretty sure. Hurley and Ben were outside, though, sharing a candy bar. And MiB did say he was Christian, so yeah...
I guess I'm not too smart on the subject of the pregnancy problems, but I'd read some theories about how such phenomena as the Incident and radiation could have possibly caused problems with childbirth. I do think however that it could have been done by Jacob somehow, to get Juliet to set off jughead after coming to the island and create the flashsideways timeline.

Nothing aganist you at all but I reallly hate this cop out attitude. Everyone(ok maybe 95 percent of us) expected everything to be answered this season. Why shouldnt everyone think that? TPTB named this season the season of answers. Now that TPTB only expained like 70 percent of the answers, all these loyal hardcore fans are acting like this whole time they were never expecting answers in the first place. Go back and look at prior seasons post, no one predicted that they wouldnt answer everything, Actaully everyone basically assumed season 6 was the season you will get your explanation. Please everyone who is saying " I dont expect answers, or this show was never about getting answers" you need to stop. There is no doubt TPTB got lazy this season. I.E. Walt, time travel, fake christian/mib being off the isalnd, food drop, the numbers. You cant deny whats right in front of your face. Also for the people who say they dont expect answers, or this season was never about getting answers, then why are TPTB trying to explain everything? I guess thats the main problem, TPTB didnt try hard enough. Lastly I like this season, I like alot. There is no doubt in my mind though that TPTB got extremly lazy.

Actually the odds are much greater. Most lottery games have 40 or 50 numbers from which to choose. Jacob had an infinite number of numbers to use. So the odds are not calculable.
The numbers thing was explained as much as I think we're going to get. Those numbers were part of the "Valenzi equation" (spelling?), and those numbers were important so I am guessing Jacob assigned one to each of the likely candidates.
I agree with you about many of the other questions, but I think the numbers thing was answered fairly well, even though there are still questions surrounding them (like why they were broadcast in the first place, how the crazy guy heard them, etc.).

I was Tweeting w. Damon Lindelof. He said someone was trying to explain this to him while he was drunk, then this person sent him this link. Lindelof's comment about it was "interesting". Go to this link and read about it.

It is OK to chill and enjoy Lost - the whole experience of it without having all your questions answered. It is an experience to be enjoyed in the present while watching it and discussing it. Don't allow your enjoyment of this unique experience be spoiled because you believe you are entitled to have certain questions answered. And if they're not answered, it ruins the whole show. Like it wasn't as good as it should/could have been if everything was explained. Read that link - maybe even have a shift in consciousness in order not to spoil your Lost experience.
Lost is what it is. Not what you think it should be. ;)

I couldn't agree more about the writers laziness this season especially when this was billed as the season for answers. I mean just look at some of the in depth theories and protracted plotlines on this and other forums to show how much could be done with the story we have. Maybe it's because the writers set their standards so high to start with in earlier seasons that now it looks like their just throwing us scraps and saying here you go, heres your answer. Now don't get me wrong I actually agree with the concept of leaving certain avenues open for interpretation but there are plenty areas that for me should have definitive explanation. Like what is the island/exotic matter? Please don't feed with with BS about a light in a cave and we've built a wheel that we're gonna put in the light to escape this place. That is so fricking lame, an 8 year old could have came up with that. Personally I think that in trying to keep the mystery alive to the very end (ie. the finale) that they have mismanaged their available air time to successfully tie up the important loose ends in a comprehensible storyline. Evidence of this is apparent now that TPTB have had to go back to the network and ask for an extra half hour on top of the two they have already for the finale and even further I've just heard that there will be an extra twenty minutes to that when we get the dvd realease!! I mean Jeeeez guys c'mon!

Lost is what it is. Not what you think it should be.
This type of responce is excatly what I am talking about. First off were in my post did i say I was entitled. TPTB set the entitlement by saying season 6 would be the Season of answers. Also the fans set the entitlement as well. In prior seasons when anyone would say " this dosnt make any sence at all" the loyal fans would say " dont worry TPTB have it all planned out, it wall all make sence in the end." Also when did I say the show was runied if I dont get my answers? You cant put words in my mouth to prove your point.
"Lost is what it is. Not what you think it should be."
This is a quote by you. LOL what does this even mean? When did I ever say it should be anything? My opinion was purely based off what TPTB said and what everyone else thought prior to this season. If this season wasnt about answers, then why did TPTB label that way. If TPTB are now saying this show was never ment to be answered fully, then why are they making a book(encyclopedia) in the late fall. My major point is TPTB got lazy this season. You cant deny that. Stop turning it around on the fans who have this opinion.
Lastly I looked at that link, that has nothing to do with the writers getting lazy. Everyone needs to stop making excuses for TPTB.

I don't recall TPTB saying anything of the sort. I think ABC has just been trying to brainwash us into getting all hyped up for the supposedly "epic finale that will answer all your questions so watch it now!!!" They're trying to milk Lost for all the money it is worth. They are the true villians here.

Once again please stop making excuses for TPTB. TPTB control this show as well as all media(comercials, promos, webisodes, ect......) related to the show. If you remember ABC wanted 9 seasons and TPTB said hell no. They have almost 100 percent freedom to run the show how ever they want too. Just think If "ABC" labeled this season(LIKE YOU CLAIM) "The season were are losties go to outer space" or "the season you get no answers at all" TPTB wouldnt let them do that, obviosuly because they control the show.

or
The answers the way some wanted

My earlier post in this thread is not addressed at anyone in particular - just to the general unhappiness, discontent, outrage some people seem to have about this. I was trying to offer a way out of having your undies in such a bunch - I know that must be really uncomfortable. :p Jus sayin - maybe don't take it so seriously, but if you're happy being unhappy - to each his own. Its not about what THEY feel is important to the story though. We are the viewing public after all. I have thoroughly enjoyed the past six years and can honestly say in my 38 years in this world I have never been quite so taken by a tv show. To me it has been the best bit of tv ever!! And i don't make that statement lightly. But after 5 or should I say 6 seasons of questions I am not quite so happy with so many loose ends or should I say GAPING PLOT WHOLES! I just will feel let down with this final season. Like so often lately in Hollywood a great premise for a movie or a tv show holds so much promise ends up not being able to maximise it's potential.

Question, a while back didn't Hurly stumble upon the cabin? When he looked inside didn't an eye pop up at him?

Honestly you took the words right out of my mouth with this statement. I agree with you 100 percent. Even all the stuff about lost being your number one favorite show of all time, cause its mine too. One thing I would like to add is, this show was so 'detail-oriented', so incredibly complex, and very, very slowly delivered. Why is it TPTB stopped this awesome style in the last season. This season its definetly not 'detail-oriented' Cause if it was then everyone wouldnt be so pissed about the answers there getting. We actaully SHOULDNT have payed attention to the details, cause those details made it impossible, even for the writers to make sence of some long standing mysterys. The show is incredibly complex, so complex that TPTB got lost in there own maze. Proof of that is, like I said before, long standing mysterys not being able to explain(Walt, food drop, numbers, time travel, ect....) Everyone remember the slow paced story delivering style thorugh season 1-5? I know I do. Remeber when clare gets kidnapped, then they use a WHOLE episode to explain it in season 2? Remember When Michael searches for his son and disapeers for half of a season, then they use a WHOLE episode to explain exactly what happened to Michael. Or when micheal leaves the island with his son and once again they use a WHOLE episode to explain it. How about when desmonds turns the key, once again used a whole episode to explain it. How about lockes mission off the island when he died, once again they used a whole episode to explain it. We wanted to know what happened with dharma after season 2, well they really spoiled us here, they gave us a whole season for that. What was the incident? Once again explained beautifully with 2 episodes. I can go on for days with examples of slow-paced and great story telling. TPTB had a good record of giving us all the info except for this season. My first point Faraday. Faraday left to ann arbor michigan. In previous seasons that long of an exit for a character would be explained with at least one episode. Apparently not in season 6. Long standing mysteries like the whispers were explained with ONE sentence. Come on one fkn sentence. That is pure lazyness in my book. The TPTB could have easly explained every loose end with just a couple episodes. I know for a fact that The hardcore-TPTB do eveything right-we dont need answers-type fans would even have to admit that if there was a couple other episodes that basically explained everything , that would be awesome. Overall its been a good season, not the best. By the far the most laziest season written. Ok its tied with season 3 laziness.

Just a question: why did they decide to end it at season 6?
also, i agree with andrew above. they sure did stop doing what they did so well throughout the series. it's almost like lebron james in the playoffs against boston last week. couldn't finish with the same standard carried to this point. almost like he lost interest. I hope they give us more info here and there as the years go by through different avenues such as the complete series dvd set or little bits here and there on tv. i don't know how but it would be cool if they did that.
having said that, i'm enjoying this season overall although it did not live up to the hype the previous seasons created. I'd say wait until the finale is over to talk about what questions were answered/not answered and in what way. we still have 2-1/2 "episodes" left, so you never know.
I can't seem to forget what daniel dae kim said about the finale when he read the script. "perfect"

Although I agree with you on some points,I also think that it is the writers' goal that we,as fairly intelligent people,go out there and search for answers. Read about ancient cultures, read the books that Sawyer reads, read about quantum physics.
Not everything in Lost is particularly from an existing culture. It''s all based on Egyptian, indian, christian etc. And I stress ''based on'',it doesn't have to be literal.
As for the skeletons, although it makes sense,I was disappointed. I wanted it to be shocking. And the fact that the writers or whoever made that mistake by placing the skeletons apart in one scene and together in the other is in my book inexcusable. Something that important, something that has been the most talked about topic through out the whole series, you can't just overlook that. That is sloppy...
And Richard has been ageless for almost 150 years and now Smokey just kills him??
I know making up an ending is very difficult, but you can't rush it either.
I VOTE FOR A 7th SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:) LOL, so true!
I'm sorry those of you who feel so betrayed by TPTB. It is like seeing all these beautiful wrapped presents under the tree Christmas morning as a kid. Some are awesome, sure, but some are admittedly lame. Nothing can compare to the anticipation of the surprise.
For me, I don't get so worked up. But apparently MANY of you all do. :p
