Did you know that Michael lied about Brian Porter giving Walt Vincent? Why would he do that?

What episode are you talking about?

Also, I am beginning to believe that the real Vincent never survived the crash, and that the Vincent we see is really the Black Smoke in a form that Walt would understand...

The whole Vincent is smokie theory has been kicked around for a couple of years now but I need proof or at least some clues to even start believing this.

I didn't rewatch the episode but I read the transcript. Are you sure he lied about it or did we just not see the part were Brian said he could have the dog? I mean a lot can be said with facial expressions that why I say I didn't rewatch the episode. I see no reason why he would lie.

MICHAEL: I'm a -- I'm your father. Hey, um, I want you to know -- listen, I can't explain how sorry I am about your mom. You should know that, hey, we loved each other very much when we had you.

WALT: Where's Brian?

MICHAEL: Brian's not here. I've come to bring you home with me.

WALT: I'm not going anywhere with you.

MICHAEL: Walt, can I? [indicating he's like to set the box and envelope down, which he does]. I know this is really hard to understand. All of this. See Brian, Brian loves you very much. He wants you to stay with him, but it's not his choice. It's mine. I'm your legal guardian. And it's not like he's going to disappear from your life. He'll still call you, write to you, come to see you whenever he can. You know, you'll still have your dog.

WALT: But Vincent isn't mine. He's Brian's.

MICHAEL: Brian said you could have him.

I thought Brian did tell Michael that Walt could have the dog when they were talking alone.

I read season 1 episode 14 special and in that episode Brian never said Walt could have the dog. Not sure if it means anything.

i vaguely remember it but i am sure at the time, i took it to be michael just trying to win walt over.

Yeah, it definitely was a lie to get Walt to come with him. He didn't want to leave Vincent, what else would you tell a boy who is your son that you don't even know and he doesn't have a clue who you are?

Brian didn't want Walt, so it probably was Michael's shot at Brian for not wanting Walt since he probably loved the dog more. If you don't want my son, then I am taking your beloved dog!! Take that, brian!
