Any thoughhts on what would have happened if they didnt stop the count down. What was that anyway?

it was to stop a huge gas leak much like the one that killed the original Dharma

I guess the gas would have been released.

I was really disappointed in the old "OMG there's a countdown but shew! we diverted a disaster with only a couple second left to spare!!!" routine. I expect a bit better...
