The Colossus of Rhodes

This movie has a lot of clues. Just putting it out there! Made in 1961. Never was a fan of Lost until jen k. made me watch all of season one 3 weeks ago. I'm caught up with all 4 seasons. This movie is on right now and I can't get over the similarites with Lost. The Island, the statute, the characters, control rooms. It's spooky. If anyone is a fan they should look into this theory. pete ny

The people of Rhodes built the Colossus to celebrate their victory from seige from Demetrious' army, they funded it by selling his war machines. It all started when Alexander the Great died and they split up into Greek and Egyptian cities. Rhodes followed Ptolomy and was attacked by Demetrious who followed Greece.

Oh, and a tidal wave destroyed the ships that were sent to Rhodes, and the people of Rhodes swamped the war machines.

At least that is what I thought.

at the end of the movie the left foot is the only part left of the statue just like the one in LOST. Rory Calhoun says "this is a peaceful island". Sergio Leone directed this movie.

There is also an ancient, huge 5- toed foot (like the 4- toed one on the island) in Israel. Several years ago there was speculation about its importance, etc. If anyone knows more about it, please post!
