That's because in the preview for next week Desmond and Sayid find a note from a "Mysterious" person next week . The note is slid in from a vent within the door. Sayid picks up the note and it saids "Don't trust the captain. I watched a preview for next week on ABC.com that shows the seen. My take on this is that he isn't talking about Widmore. I wouldn't think the "Mysterious person" knows who Widmore is. If this mysterious person works for Ben which I supecion they do. Then they most likely will know who Widmore is and that is who they are talking about. But they may also have no clue who Widmore is and are talking about the person Widmore put in charge of the Freighter mission.
