The person who is deceased is survived by a teenager. I don't think Juliette has any children. When we see Ben we don't know where in relation that is to Jacks flash forward.

I hope it's not but I think it's Locke. That would explain everything for me in the flashforward. Jack realized he needed to get back, which Locke told him on the island that he was meant to be there.

I don't think he is in love with Juliette. He actually just told Kate not to long ago that he loves her. I think he saw the obituary in the news paper and realized that his hope of getting back on the island was lost. That hope was Ben.

I don't follow why Jack would want to get back to the island. He's a well off doctor. If he wants to go back, he has the means to find a way. That tells me the island is either gone, or he agreed not to go back.

From what I could tell in Kate's 'flash forward', Kate was withdrawing from a relationship with Jack due to Aaron....... Jack said he 'didn't love Kate in court' then afterward met her to say that wasn't true. So I think his affections end up with her come their return to the 'real world'. As for Ben........ isn't he in Sayid's 'flash forward'. Maybe its Reseau in the coffin? Maybe she tried to talk about the island and was killed? Who knows, but I wouldn't be inclined to think it is Ben in the coffin. MAYBE Juliet

He obviously doesn't have the means. He says or rather alludes to in the season 3 finale that he has been using his golden ticket to try to get back to the island. He also says they never should have left, that they need to go back.

I think Sawyer definately dies........ would but money on it. All the main characters can't survive and it would complete his 'story' of a transformation from his bad boy character that initially started off on the island. I gaurantee that he does something heroic and dies from it!! (Been saying this since season 1)

We don't know where in relation Sayids flash forward is to Jacks flash forward. So I don't believe we can judge who is in the coffin by that time line.

I hope they end up together also. I wouldn't be surprised if they killed off Sawyer but I can't imagine many fans being ok with that. I heard they lost a lot of viewers after killing off Charlie. I would think it would be worse if they kill of Sawyer.

If it happens at the end of the show then losing viewers won't be an issue, but I can't see them not killing off at least one of Kate, Ben, Sawyer, Hurley, or Sayid. Charlie reportedly signed his own death warrant because he wasn't featured enough and is now going to be in the new X-men or something. Anyway - losing the point........ Not to sound 'fattist' (is that a word - it should be) any how - that coffin was small....... either a girl or Ben I reckon - maybe am wrong, but definately not Hurley. He's kinda big. I think if it was another member of 'Oceanic 6' then Jack would have said 'friend' when asked -if for keeping up appearances then anything else. So I don't think its Sayid either,

I'm not digging Jack, Sawyer, and even Kate anymore. Jack is loosing control, and Sawyer has turned into a bump on the log, and Kate is obsessed with her personal stuff.

The newspaper article says it's a man. In tis case I don't buy for a second that what we saw was meaningless or else they would not have shown it.

The coffin thories are stuck in a quazality loop (STNG reference)!

The news paper being the "clue" it's a man named John Latham isn't necessarily gospel. It's been stated that it was a grab prop. The writers have said that they tend to keep some of that whole senario as clues but much isn't what we think. They also said it's a regular coffin so stop trying to decide based up the size. The most reliable clues are Jacks behavior and dialogue and Kates response.

Ben is an excellent choice because with the drive that Jack is displaying in trying to get back, he could be despondent in losing the contact with Ben in getting there.
