how long has juliet been on island?

i was wondering how long Julliet has been on the island. also, why didnt she freak out when the plane crashed? i mean shes brought to island to do research on pregnant women, a plane crashes, and then they start kidnapping people and have lists about them and she doesnt find this strange? i dont understand

she's been on the Island since 2001 (so 3 years since the show is still in Dec. 2004)

i think that by the time the plane crashes....Goodwin has filled her in on some...but obv she does appear to be clueless to details to the island,etc...OR is this a front????so many questions...so little time!!!

It looks like whatever technique Ben has used to keep them all under control, he's used it on Juliet, and that it's a known thing that what Ben says goes. But what I don't get, is how she and the others seem to know little about the big picture, but just do as Ben says - they must know more surely, if it's so important to do what he says?
