When she first met him and he came to her office with the "hurt arm"...he said that it was a chemical burn......she took care of it and chatted with him and said the crap about Harper before she knew that it was his wife....before he left she said "If u don't tell your wife what I said about her....I won't tell anyone how u hurt ur arm......I know a chemical burn when I see one!"........SO:...where did this burn come from???I don't think that Juliette knows but she is suspicious.....could it be radiation burn?????(from time traveling???)....tell me what u think or am I overreading it??

I just kind of took it as support for the rest of the episode. I'm not a chemist, but gases can be formed when mixing liquid chemicals. So, Goodwin works at the power station, that's where chemicals are, that's where the gases will come from, so someone needs to save the day, yada yada. But why Goodwin would try and be deceptive to Juliet and why Juliet would then enter into a secret agreement, that's another matter.

i know that when Juliette and Goodwin are on the beach in "the other woman" he tells her that "Ben has him working with chemicals that could kill every man, woman and child on the island"...is this referring to the new station with the gases??? We could assume from this that it could have been a chemical burn....if not like Juliette states...what is it???

Goodwin's chemical burn came form his work at the Tempest...if you remember from the last episode when we see inside the Tempest station there are alot of chemical tanks, and it is a dangerous station for that reason, and if i remember i believe there were some chemicals be shot from some of the pipes/tanks or something inside that station...but either way his chemical burn had to have been from his dangerous work at the Tempest Station

ok...but why then does he tell her it is a chemical burn initially...then after she dresses it and all...she accuse him of it not being a chemical burn and obviously that shows that he was deceiving her....and it is NOT a chemical burn????

he said it was an electrical burn at first...but with all the secrets on the Island already especially when it comes to places outside the barrack walls. it wasn't that surprising that he would intially lie about the type of burn. Within the barracks there isn't anything that could cause that type of a chemical burn, but electrical burn is much easier to pull off...i don't think it was anything more, then to at first keep the other stations outside of the barrack walls secret.

Well, I wouldn't call it a wasted thread. There's still the issue that the Others are keeping secrets from each other.

He said electrical but it didn't look like one to me when they showed him lifting his arm out. I thought immediately that, no it's a chemical burn, and I thought when he stated later about working with chemicals that that was our clue.

true james...thx for finding the good in my craziness:)
obv...richard hides things from Ben too.....ex: remember when he hands over the journal on Sawyers past with his Dad...this lead Locke to bringing in Sawyer to kill his Dad...i think Richard and some of the others don't want Ben to be in charge anymore so they saw hope in Locke as a new leader esp with his special bond to the island....also...Goodwin obv had more than one secret:)

I was wondering about that too - didn't he say Ben had him working with the chemicals?

It would have made a lot more sense if he said it was an electrical burn and she said she knew a carpet burn when she saw it :)

It seems that it must have been a secret project for Ben and not even Goodwin's wife knew the true nature of his work i.e. Ben was preparing chemical weapons again.

From http://www.blurtit.com/q326129.html;

"The three dots that are at the end of the sentence are called ellipses. It is used when a sentence, a statement or speech can be understood without actually saying it. Ellipses are marked either by a row of three *** or three (…) most commonly they used by marking (…)

In the following examples the ellipted material is given in brackets. (1) 'Would you like to have dinner with us?' - 'Yes, I'd love to' [have dinner with you]. (2) 'What did she tell you?' - [She told me] 'That she was busy.' (3) I should have finished that paper, but I haven't [finished that paper].

These stops are also known as Period of Ellipses, suspension points, Points of ellipses or simply DOT-DOT-DOT.

It is sometimes used to designate an unfinished thought. Sometime ellipses are also used to end a sentence without revealing the true intentions or meaning of the sentence."

I think you over use them. This should help you know when and when not to use them. No thanks nessesary. I always enjoy your posts.
