I've posted these two images and idea in different threads now...as much as little Annie was there for Ben. this show is also about psychological issues. Evident by all the father issues so why not have Mommy issues too?? With that being said i first made the notion of Ben possible having an Oedipus Complex...either way I pretty sure that the "her" Haper is referring to is Ben's Mom not Annie (although i think we haven't seen the last of her either).

i'm pretty sure the woman that Harper is referring to is Ben's Mom...if we've learned anything, LOST has Father issues and well why not an Oedipus complex (describes a state of psychosexual development in which a male child desires his mother and grows envious and hostile towards his father) for good old Ben??? kinda sounds like him, hating his dad and falling in love with his dead mom...who Juliet just so happens to look like.

Ben's Mom (when she appears to him on the Island)...

i posted this before friday nite that i thought the she juliette looked like was Ben's mom....this painting of his mom(and whats up with the hamster...lol) was behind Locke too....i think he def has some serious issues....maybe cuz his dad was an SOB and he grew up somewhat isolated and lonely(exc for Annie) and dreamed of what it would have been like to have his mom ....also...he prob feels that he owes his mom for finding Richard and the others which is a good place for him

exactly, and as far as we know little Annie was killed along with everyone else in the DI during the Purge...don't forget that what was once an image of peace and love (the swings) was later used as a holding device for a prisoner (aka Sayid when Kate, John, and he go back to rescue Jack)...and if i remember that swing wasn't kept together very well...but he still has his doll...but still think its more about his love of the Island and his dear-old-mommy. haha

Juliette does look almost exactly like Ben's mom, and the painting looks like it is of Ben's mom also. However, I was trying to watch (but mostly missing parts of) the subtitle clues this week during the replay of last week's show and I swear they mentioned the painting and Annie's name. I could totally be wrong though.

Annie and Alexandra are the two most significant women in Ben's life, and the character is going to play a "huge part" in upcoming storylines. On the DVD commentary track for "The Man Behind the Curtain" Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse describe Annie as being of "seismic" importance to Lost.
