Hurley has a Dave that he imagines... or does Dave come from somewhere else?

Libby had a husband who she refers to as David, whom had died and she gave his sailboat to Desmond.

Libby was in the psychiatric hospital for some time with Hurley when Hurley was seeing the Dave guy.

Is Dave Libby's David?

I like where you are coming from but I don't think there was ever really a person in the hospital that was Dave. I think he was 100% totally imaginary.

Well maybe just for Hurley to see. The Island seems to know what will trigger a reaction from the individual, kind of like Jack seeing his Dad, Kate seeing the Black Horse ,and sawyer with the Boar It knows their weakness or personal struggles.
