okay, so maybe there is another thread on the boards concerning this, if so please redirect me to it.

anyways, back when they showed ben's flashback of coming to the island when he was just a boy, and he met the man in the woods and asked if he could join them, who were they?
perhaps i missed the explanation somehow.
were they just disgruntled dharma employee's, or people who came there at some point, or maybe even some actual natives of the island?

yes we are lead to believe they are natives of the island or at least been there for a very long time.some ppl speculate they are from the black rock but nothing has been confirmed except they were there before dharma
