There was no flash from the beach to the time they were shot at... when they did, it was 1988.

TPTB said they weren't going to answer this.
Proof that they caved in and gave us another half assed answer.

The better explanation would be if the crew somehow flashed to 2004, took the shot, and flashed back.

I know some of you think that would be technically unsound, but oh well. :p
