Jacob is Jack's dad... if u turn up the brightness in the first episode of season 4, and slow it down-- you clearly see the white shoes that Jack's dad wears in one of the mini webisodes that they released...... spooky!!

I think that Jacob can manifest himself into anything-- ie. Locke, Walt, Locke's dad, the black smoke, even the polar bear!!!!

The eye looks like there is long hair on the persons head, not short or lack of. But Mikhail does seem to heal fast, the shield, the harpoon... and Mikhail is Russian.

Could it be that Jacob and John are one in the same as God and Jesus Christ. Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jacob=Father, John=Son, and the Smoke=Holy Spirit. All one in the same. Ben who was once the right hand man of Jacob/God will become Lucifere.

Thats an interesting comparison :) but I don't think Locke is one and the same as Jacob. The security system seems connected to the island/Jacob but is separate in my view.

Going back to the time travel theory, maybe Jacob is Locke but from the future... maybe when the button didn't get pushed it caused some kind of time rift which brought the plane to the island at another time...Maybe this is why Ben kinda got excited and told the others that Locke was something special and they got disappointed when he wouldn't kill his father(they knew "Jacob" was supposed to) and this is why Ben says "he's not who we thought he is"...I could be way of with this but its just an idea

As for the appearance of Jacob, I'm pretty sure his form has nothing to do with who he is. He is God of the island and whatever realm the island is apart of. He can do whatever he wants and be whoever he wants to be.

Man, I can't believe I have to say this over and over again. Yes, John Locke is capable of hearing Jacob, and the cause/reason for that may be later revealed, however, John Locke is not Jacob, John Locke is John Locke, didn't anyone see his past, the others basically gave us his entire life story, I'm pretty sure Ben would know if John Locke was the king of the island, just like he knew Jack was a surgeon. Jacob is a completely different character, whom we will soon get to know very well.
