So, my father and stepmother are coming out in mid-January for a week. And, at about the same time, an old friend of mine is flying in from Alaska. She has a yoga retreat planned. We reconnected after 20 years on Facebook last summer!! She will be on "my" island for a few days, so I will be able to play tour guide very soon.

My mother and stepfather are coming out in May, around the time of my birthday (and LissaMarie's, LOL); they are VERY EXCITED about visiting. my stepfather has never been here, and my mother has not been here since 1980.

In September my cousin (best friend, LOST fan) will come out for the first time. Prepare to hear about our hijinks on the national news.:eek::D

I think I found a place to stay short-term, 2 cool roomies. I will want my own place eventually. Job situation will be re-addressed Tuesday. My stepsister is here waiting for her boyfriend to return from deployment (Marines), so I will pick her up tonight and drop her off tomorrow after we watch the PATRIOTS CRUSH THE JETS.

Things are happening, but not at the rapid rate I wanted.

I've applied to 8,237 jobs in 2 weeks.:D

And I've sold one of my kidneys to afford the hotel costs...but at least I'm sleeping well!;) It's a good thing I've kept both lungs for so long...

Truthfully, though, I have wavered emotionally about this move. But I'm here and I really can't see myself going back. I haven't stopped smiling since I've been here; it's just a matter of time before one lucky institution will be blessed with my presence!

Been renting a room in a house for little over a week now. It's month to month, so when I am ready to get my own place I'll be able to with little trouble. Cool roommates, really quiet and chill. Very convenient. And a lot cheaper than even the cheapest hotel.
