im new to this site so i dont know if this has been said or not. i thought that aaron was believed to have been the first born child on the island, but i rewatched the season 3 finale and when everyone was in the radio tower she said that she made the recording 3 days befoe alex was born, so wouldnt that make alex the first child born on the island

Yes Alex was born on the island, but i believe there were other people born on the island long ago, back when Ben was a kid. The issue right now with the Others is their women die while they are pregnant. This is because they concieved on the island, but if the women were pregnant before they arrived, they could give birth without any major issues.

It has not been said if no women were EVER able to concieve on the island, it seems like more of a recent thing, as in the past 20-30 years. This could be the result of the "Incident" that happened on the island in the 80's, or it could be some mysterious effect of the island that has always been present.

Assuming he is around the same age as Alex, its possible that whatever is killing the women happened sometime after Carl was born, which is approximately 16 years ago.

yea a rousseau flashback absolutely has to be done, but as of yet, it isnt in the works. I thought i read that season 4 might include a Rousseau flashback, but its definetely not in the first 8 episodes.

I wonder if Ben's gas that killed most of the original Dharma folks has anything to do with the women on the island dying during their pregnancies? Probably already been thought of, but I'm a noob, what can I say?

i was thinking...who is carl's parents...does anyone have any ideas...he is just kind of there...not really mentioned much, but definitely is significant?

They could have been killed with the rest ben wiped out and someone adopted him.
