Timeline problems with 4.08

When Michael was in the hospital after his suicide attempt, there was a Christmas tree outside his window; there were Christmas decorations in a few other scenes too. And since it was established in "The Constant" that the date was 12/24, that means that the events on the island in "Meet Kevin Johnson" had to take place on or around 12/26. So all of the action in Michael's flashbacks had to take place during a span of just a few weeks (unless we assume that his hospital put up Christmas trees before Thanksgiving).

Now, stay with me here, but doesn't this mean that the breaking news story about the "discovery" of 815 also had to take place within this short window of time? And doesn't that give a December date to Daniel watching the story on the news (in the 4.02 flashback "Confirmed Dead") and Charlotte talking about the discovery of 815 in Tunisia (from the same episode)? How did Daniel and Charlotte get from there to the freighter so quickly? On the night that Michael saw the breaking news story, when did Mr. Friendly tell him the freighter was leaving?

Someone help, I'm confused.

The whole frieghter crew and mission they were set on did come together very, very quickly. But it was possible to fit in the timline.

Its one thing for "people" to do that. It is another for a TV production crew who know "time" is a sensitive subject on the show to do it....
No, I won't bring up Tom is alive, I think he is dead. But I think there is more to the xmas stuff being shown.

I think i read before on here someone had, had a theory of Charolette, Faraday, Miles, and Frank might have not all been flashbacks but some of them mightve been flashforwards.....confusing and i dont really believe it

I think they could be flash forwards. Charlottes subconscious remembering dharma, and maybe seeing the polar bear cages. Daniel meeting Desmond and making sure it was desmond that visited him in his past, thus making him his constant. Maybe Frank finds the body of his friend and sees that he has his wedding band on. Miles is collecting the 3.2 mil from Ben a little bit at a time.

Just assumptions.

Also remember that time is not the same on the island. Somthing with time is very much fishy. so the time gap from the outside world to the island could be making things go haywire. Just a theory.

Michael's mother said he had been on the island or at least not back in NYC for about 2 months, this would put his return around November 22, 2004, and Thanksgiving that year was November 25 so his being in a hospital with Christmas decorations does make sense.
