OK. Does anybody ever remember in season one when like, I think it was the first five episodes when they had two mysterious colors black and white? When Locke was talking to Walt about the game they were playing and the colors of the pieces were black and white. Also when they found the two bodies in the cave (if anybody still remembers the cave) and they contained 2 rocks, one black, one white. I just really wanted to find that out. Another thing i found out was that on the island there is two animals that were very mysterious, a polar bear (white), and the smoke (black). I dont know if it is just me but idk. Please give me answers

Regarding the whole Black/White question mentioned above... this has also sat in my mind for some time. I remember the backgammon game remarks, and the stones found inside the cave (they made a point to show those stones, yet never touched on it again). And to be honest, the only theory I've been able to come up with is Good vs. Evil. There have been a lot of references to "good guys" vs. "bad guys." I responded to this post because this is one of those little things that I still occasionally think about, and I do hope we get some clearer understanding of things as time goes on. :)

You reminded me of what i realised when i saw that scene as i knew exactly what those stones where.
They are the "Urim and the Thummim" stones as recorded in Exodus 28:30
These stones were used to make yes / no descisions
VERY interesting . . .

Another thought about the Balck and White "Urim and the Thummim" stones, they imply that no descision can be made outside of fate and therefore the "Urim and the Thummim" stones just tell you what has already been decisded.
