Here in the UK petrol costs about £1.35 per litre/$2.19 per litre - It regularly costs my husband over £100/$160 to fill up his car

Hehehe! As you can see petrol (along with everything else) is just ridiculously expensive in the UK.

How many miles/km does he driver per year?
My understanding is that we drive a lot compared to other countries.
12,000-15,000 miles per year.

He drives long distances for work so he does rack up a lot of miles. However, I definitely don't drive more than 10,000 miles per year and I'd agree that in general car journeys in the UK do tend to be pretty short.

It's immoral to make fuel out of apples. Apples need to be protected. I'd happily sacrifice fuel prices in order to save cider production

Pi$$ Head ( that's an alcoholic my American friends ) Clearly you didn't listen:p.. the gas is produced as a By Product in cider making, so if we all ran our cars on apples, Dany, you won't have to worry about getting the shakes :D

I say ditch the car and just drink the cider yourself, it's a better use of raw materials :)

Hey, I had like 4 numbers for you and tried calling the other day and just ended up leaving a message with your daughter. Sorry I'm such a spaz! Can't wait to catch up, Streamers. Give me a buzz when you feel like chatting! :)

Alright, then it sounds like you are pretty on par with the States... I didn't know. That's BRUTAL! :(
I used to date a girl from Italy, and she said she would drive to Yugoslavia to get gas, because it was so much cheaper.

back when we drove dinosaurs, I mean real cars made of metal, we used to drive all the time for no reason. We would cruise take our cars and just get the 65cent a gallon gas and put it in there and drive up and down looking at boys and they would drive up and down looking at us girls:D

I found it ironic that the least expensive gas I could find today was at the 7-11 gas station. Sad when I get excited about paying only $3.55 a gallon, eh?
yeahm, but at least you can pick up a slurpee also

back in the day, 7-11 sold gas cheaper too:D
thing was, a 69GTO has a big ole engine and it needs premium, and 7-11 did not sell premium, so once:D when everything else was closed I put some regular in there and my car was not happy at all
I have no coffee in my house!
