than michaels?

i know if i had survived a plane crash, camped out an island harbouring defunct experiments, kidnappers, criminals, the undead, smoke monsters, ghosts, polar bears etc...had my child abducted and then killed 2 people in a bid to get said child back and get us both back home my family might be a little more understanding.

Mike's mom doesn't know any of the details. She doesn't even know Mike killed anybody. All she knows is that Michael said something to Walt and now Walt is scared to death of him.

walt knows and michaels mum seems really pissed at him lol! you would think she is a little more worried and happy to see that he has survived!!

Does Michael's mom even know they were on flight 815? I don't think so. When they were talking she said Michael just disappeared for two months.

I think she is totally clueless about what is really going on.

yeah she knows as she says she was told about the plane in the ocean and thinking he was dead. she seems most annouyed at the fact that michael wont tell her what happened. maybe if she stopped bawling him out and was a little more sympathetic, he might be inclined too lol!! he is perhaps protecting her but all the same she could be nicer.

My thoughts on Michael's Mom is she knows that Walt doesn't want to see his Dad. I don't know if she knows about the killings. I doubt she knows about that. Walt looks out the window doesn't wave or anything.

yeah, she is definitely upset because walt is upset! but maybe its just a way of getting round showing less walt tbh!

She only knows he has a secret idenity & she can not tell anyone .
Walt has rejected his father, has nightmares, Mike has just showed up on his mom's doorstep w/ a grandson she has not seen since babyhood. Remember Walt's mom/stepdad raised him. And Walt is special so she may have sen/heard hi do unexplainable things.
We also don't know what kind of relationship they once had.
And no if I wouldn't cough up the details my family would not be supportive.
Of corse if Syrid were by my side who would care??????;):p

I was a bit surprised by that too! Surely if you think you've lost someone really close and they came back you'd be overjoyed, no matter what they did, especially if it was your son!!!

Bad or dubious Mommas and Poppas abound on Lost. Why would Michael's mom be any different? Maybe she should be added to the list!

Put yourself in her situation: Your son and grandson are on a plane and you either see on the news or are notified that it has crashed. You worry for weeks and weeks and hope that they will be found alive, but deep in your heart you know that this would be nearly impossible. After two months, you would almost definately have begun to accept the fact that their plane has crashed in the ocean and that they have died, and have begun to grieve for them. Suddenly, they show up at your door alive and well. You are at first overjoyed to see them and you thank God for sparing their lives. However, soon it becomes clear that something's wrong. Your son won't tell you what happened, and he even tells you that you have to keep his survival a secret. Futhermore, your grandson seems to have developed a hatred of his father, and neither of them will tell you why. Confused and frustrated, you feel betrayed by your son who has both lied to you and clearly done something wrong to your grandson. Assuming that your son has done something wrong, you take your grandson from him and refuse to let him see him until he explains himself.

I think this woman is reacting in a very normal way. Think about it: as much as you may love your son, what would you do in her shoes? If I were her, (though I would immediately have assumed that my son had gone insane and notified the authorities), I would be acting the same way. Did you expect her to greet Michael with open arms? I think she reacted normally by telling him that she does not approve of his lies and secrecy and demanding to know the truth.

i agree, i think you would go through the stages accordingly and eventually get to the rage stage! but as we havent seen the other stages so initially i was shocked by her reaction. however, he cant have been back all that long so she has got to that point pretty quickly and i am certain its an easy way to avoid having an aged walt in the show as much.

Yeah it probably is true that they devised that scene to avoid showing Walt (it did seem kind of forced), but I still think people are a little off when they say that the Grandmother is a bad person or not loving. I think she's acting perfectly normal given the bizarre circumstances.

The scene kind of reminded me of my favorite "Forced Lost Moment" in Season 3 when Tom and the Others have Jin, Sayid, and Bernard on their knees and they're ordered to shoot them. You hear the gunshots and then a few minutes later we see Tom and he says "Good thing we only fired those shots off into the ground!" and the camera awkwardly pans to the three men still alive lol. I had always envisioned that as a Family Guy moment :D

GREAT point! What a bunch of dysfunctional parents. I've stopped being surprised by anything the losties' parents do.

Oh yeah, they're great over here! :D HAHAHA I work in a toystore and I swear, you learn how NOT to discipline your kids just by watching parents spoiling little brats!

i bet you just wanna shake them!! (the parents, not the kids!) or possibly worse lol! in our local tesco, the toy aisle is notorious for being left to babysit obnoxious little ****s as their parents cant be bothered trailing them about for the shopping!

Ugh God yeah, it's unbelievable! Kids have way too much stuff these days, they don't appreciate anything! I think the worst was this woman with a kid that was about 4 years old, and she bought her a trike or something and asked for it to be made up, so she was taking it down and picked up the kid and the kid started smacking her across the head repeatedly and all the ma said was 'It's ok, it's ok' or something! GRRRRR! I wanted to kill her! And another man bought a kid a toy after he'd already bought him a toy, just because the kid had a tantrum! I'd have got a refund on the original toy and given him nothing if I knew a kid who had a tantrum!

thats shocking! kids these days are spoilt brats!! gawd, how old do i sound LOL!

You're right - I swear, it's shocking how bad it is! I see it all, and it really shows you how NOT to raise kids! And they're having collections of everything - even 3 and 4 year olds are collecting Thomas the tank engine - like they HAVE to have every one of them - they're only 3 years old for God's sake! Although I DO Love Thomas the tank engine!
When I was a kid I was overjoyed if I was brought into town and if I got a toy I really appreciated it!

AWW That's so cute! It's funny, I think they get more fun out of the cheaper things! When I was a kid I'd go to the pound shop and get stuff and I'd love it - I always got creative stuff and it kept me busy for hours, but the bigger stuff wouldn't be used as much!
