ok, firstly. Glad Lost is back on screen, how long have I been waiting - and I hate waiting!

Right, where do I start:
1. Hurley saw Charlie in the petrol station, that's why he flipped and did the whole car chase thing. However, when he saw Charlie again in the garden of the mental institution, Charlie said to him "I am dead, but I'm also here". How's that work then? Unless there's 2 of Charlie or 'here' isn't really real? Charlie also said 'they need your help'. Does Charlie mean the guys who are left on the island or the others who were rescued?
2. When Hurley was arrested he mentioned quite forcefully "I'm one of the Oceanic 6". Now, assuming that Jacks group where the ones who were 'rescued', that didn't include Hurley - he went with Locke. Jacks group included Jack, Kate, Juliette, Rose and Bernard. How come Hurley was No 6?
3. When Jack went to see Hurley in the institution he wanted to know whether Hurley had 'gone nuts and told them'. Hurley was quite insistent that they had to go back, Jack shook his head and left. At the end of Season 3, Jack was the one saying to Kate that he was sick of lying and that they had to go back. Does that mean that Jacks flash forward happened after Hurleys?

That'll do for now, my brain hurts!
Looking forwards to episode 2 though, can't believe I have to wait a whole week!!!!

I don't think the groups they are in now are going to have any bearing on who gets rescued, anything can happen between now and that time. Someone else made a post that the people who got rescued ( The 6) had no choice but we forcefully taken off the island, anyone else hear this?

you are right about the third thing. Jack says something like "im thinking about growing a beard soon" and in Jacks flashback he does have a huge bushy beard. The first question, I am pretty sure Hurley is just insane again and seeing Charlie now that he is off the island. Charlie was Hurly's best friend on the island. I bet they will show a flashback or something for Hurley showing that his other imaginary friend was his best friend and died or something along those lines. Your second questions gonna be ended towards the end of the series.

yea when charlie says, "i am dead. But im also here", i believe he is referring to being dead, but also alive in hurleys mind, cus if you havent noticed...the island is freaky!! nd if the island wants them to come back, cus they have some connection with it, its gonna do everything it can to bring them back. hence the whole charlie thing. when charlie says, "they need you" nd when his hand reads that, i think he is saying, that the "6" that got off the island or watever, are going through some anxiety, of wanting to go back. we already saw Jack all crazy, nd wanting to go back, nd hurley even said i think it wants us to go back, or something...

1. i think charlie is only real for Hurley; and he meant everyone left on the island need his help

2. we only know kate, hurley, and jack get off island so far, bernard and rose were gonna stay on the island no matter what

3. yep, this flash forward was before last seasons finale flashforward...we could have more flashforwards inbetween before and after both of these in the coming episodes...cant wait
