Has any one else noticed that in certain scenes like when Hurley saw Charlie outside the hospital there was that big tree like on the Island. When Sun and Hurley went to the cemetary the big tree was there too. I know there were other times I just have to remember them. My son always says there's that big tree Mom. Oh ya all the times on the Island too.

I have noticed the tree before too. It usually appears when there is some kind of crossroad in someones life, or a big meaning to what is happening. The tree usually stands alone.

Maybe it's suppose to symbolize the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Like I said, there are lots of these solitary trees around Oahu. I think the filming crew likes to work with nice scenery; these trees are magnificent.

:) Well, this tree is always by itself. I just think it symbolizes something. What is the name of that one tree that use to be on Album covers I just can't remember what is was called. It is old..... That is what it reminds me of when they show it. I can't get any pictures of the times it is there. Once at the hospital at the cemetary and other times too.

I don't think it is. They're talking about a solitary tree in the camera shots being symbolic.

Personally, I don't think it's too big a deal. The filming crew likes the scenery; they put it on film. No real underlying messages or anything.

I don't remember what the tree looked like at Jin's grave site, but I think it was similar to the one at Hurley's hospital.

The one where Walt hid from the polar bear was a Banyan tree, whose roots grow down from the branches, creating more trunks as the tree grows.
