What if Cassidy financed the freighter

Cassidy could have financed the freighter with the money Sawyer put in the bank for Clementine.

I don't think any Mom in her right mind would blow their kids college fund and future to hunt for the man who conned her and left her to raise her daughter alone.Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Sawyer fan ,but can't see that happening.

I can see Penny's dad as the reason for the freighter. He wants to hunt down Desmond so that Penny will stop wasting time with him. Why else would Namoie be looking specifcaly for Desmond unless it was just a cover story and no one on the freighter will know anything about the Losties. Which probly is the case. But i don't see Cassidy being the reason behind the freighter or anything associated with it.

Don't forget there are still a lot of missing gaps with Desmond. We know Desmond became a monk for a brief time but we don't know that story yet and he also joined the Royal Scouts (some royal regime in Scotland) so he may have connections there we don't know about yet. I'm assuming Mr. Widmore has something to do with this Freighter but in any case there is still a lot to learn about Desmond.

To go along with the father thing, I just remembered that Desmond also had a father that something happened too since he had to drop out of college to take care of his 3 brothers. I just find it interesting all the parallels with the fathers but I know thats another post :)

Good points. But for the monk sotryline, its over. In that episode we see why he became a monk. He was a coward. 1 week before being married he ran off because he thought he got this calling blah blah. So then he wasted more time there and finally got fired. There is nothing to tell there in my opinion. Penny story picks up after he gets fired.

That's true good point, I forgot about that. Haha I feel like I need to go back and watch everything again from the beginning....i bet there is so much stuff that would make so much more sense now.

finacing a freighter with helicopters and a full crew would cost many many millions of $.. cassidy doesn't have that much dough. Its almost definite that it was financed by Penelope's father.

i like the theory that its pennys father funding so penny will stop looking for desmond. but if that is all it is, than it wouldnt go with the plot of how ben says these are the most dangerous people/enemy the island has ever faced.

I have never been more sure of anything than I am that Cassidy did not finance the freighter.

I have been assuming it was Hanso who seems to be somhow connected to Widmore and maybe a few others .

the thing is, when Nicole landed she had that picture and said Desmond, so if it was Dharma then they must have had TV feeds coming through from some time since Desmond came and got put on the button, unless you all are right and that's how they know Des, from Penny's dad, but it works either way, I think

Desmond is definitely a big key to all of this and the Bro Campbell thing is just kind of hanging there.
