Didn't a drunk future Jack, say that his father was alive when confronted by his associate? Something like "If you get my father upstairs, and I'm drunker than him, then you can fire me."

So after watching that....Is he dead dead?

Or is he dead like Charlie?

I'm not real sure.....I'm still pretty confused but at least we DO know Christian Shepard holds a lot of significance. I have a feeling his "being" at this point can be compared to that of Charlie, Walt, (maybe Dave) and even Ben's mother. Especially Walt in this instance since he appears to Locke many times and even told him when he was in the ditch that he needed to get out because "he had work to do"....the same thing Christian says to Vincent the dog regarding Jack. I can't wait to figure out how they plan to explain all that!

Yea, the "he has work to do" got me. That missing pieces episode really shocked me.
Apparently Vincent can see and interact with dead people, wonder what secrets he knows? I'll bet plenty.
There has been so much speculation with Jacks father, clear back to the white tennis shoe in the pilot, this is mind boggeling!

I wonder if in the flash-forward it is Christian driving Jack crazy enough to start telling Kate they "have to go back", as Hurley is telling Jack they have to go back now.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing....just as Hurley has Charlie and Locke has Walt, I think for Jack its his father. Remember in the beginning after Boone died Shannon saw him a lot too including Walt? Even Eko saw his brother on the island. It's almost like its the same "being" (perhaps Jacob?) but just comes in different forms. Walt is super important though because even when he was back in America before the island and even when he was a baby, he did a lot of strange things (remember the birds that would die?)....they showed the same thing in the missing pieces video. Uggh there is so much to take in!! Haha :)

Yes he did say that in the flashforward. He also had a prescription for drugs that he said was written by his father.

FYI........In episode 1 of season 4 it was Christian Shepard who Hurly saw sitting in Jacobs cabin, but the eye was someone elses.

One thing to note, in "So it begins", the Christian apparition says to wake up his son to the dog. It doesn't say to wake Jack up. Maybe it's insignificant. Compared to other apparitions of Christian, this one seemed more like it was actually him, like his actual consciousness was there, instead of a form. Maybe its nothing...

thanx Esekiel... now all we need is a close up of that guys left eye so we can compare it to the one Hurley sees haha

yeah dude, anytime. But that "Jacob" dude, isn't the 1 from the window, I think its some1 we already know I don't know who though. But always remember When Jacob says "I will take fierce revenge on them and punish them with fury. I will take revenge on them. Then they will know that I am the LORD."
OK
just kidding, he doesn't say that its from pulp fiction a clip from Ezekiel 25:15 of the Old Testament.

yeah that still gets me about Jack's father writing the prescription for Jack's Oxycodone. I don't think he did.I think it was forged some how. How it got passed the legal system is beyound me. Why else would Jack get angery and stop the pharmacis from calling his father's office. If there wasn't anything to hide? Jack some how has over riden the legal system. Now the question is. How? I supose all thoes eyrs being a Dr him self he kne wthe rules and how he could do it.

As far as"Bring my father down and if Im drunker than he is. Then you can fire me" that was just him talking out of his ill mind that suffers some type of mental breack down. I think his father is truly dead.

Hi Arch, but he never actually had the perscription filled, he got upset and walked away.

And yea, I believe Christian is dead but the question is, how dead? Charlie is haunting Hurly into going back, so I'm thinking Christian is haunting Jack into going back. Somehow the dead can interact with the living, as in touch them, IE, Charlie slapping Hurly, maybe they can also write perscriptions. We know they can pet dogs.

Not only did he pet the dog, but he spoke ENGLISH to him and told him to "go wake my son up".....So Vincent can understand English and apparently knows that by "my son..." he meant Jack! Bizarre!!!!
BUT.....he did belong to Walt before he left, so maybe HE is "special" too....???!!!!
(idk....crazy....haha )
