View Full Version : Danielle in on it?

I went back and watched when Karl and Danielle were shot. Does it seem strange that she would pick that particular spot to rest? Ben was never very happy with Alex being with Danielle in the first place, so why now does he seem ok with it? Granted, she is her mother, but family ties don't mean much to Ben, especially after he killed his own father.
I don't want to think it, but maybe Danielle is on the plot to have Karl killed. She knows the island better than most on it, and yet she has a hard time reading the map and general orienteering? I don't think so...
After Karl was shot, she wouldn't even check for a pulse, just automatically determined that he was gone. I think that her and Ben agree that Karl was bad for Alex.

yeah i think her priority ws getting alex to safety - not what had just happened to carl, who she has not emotional tie to at all.

Dude given the circumstances you would have asked the same question, "Does it seem strange she would pick that particular spot to rest?" no matter where she rested. You are going with the fact that she did if fact stop to rest to assume she is in on it. geez the lengths that some of u will go to
Would it be less suspicious to you if she rested somewhere else on the island?

I dunno....perhaps if Danielle hadn't been shot herself I could understand her teaming up with Ben, but I suspect Ben is behind this on his own and he wouldn't miss Danielle or Karl. Of couse Ben could have had a plan with Danielle and then double crossed her. That's just like Ben to do something like that.

The thing I found strange about the episode is when Ben told Alex to go with her mother, and then still claimed to be her father. For me, that makes the case that Ben doesn't like Carl or Danielle. So I don't think she was in on anything.

I think he [Ben] was hoping for all 3 to be dead.

I think it is all part of his master plan. It is the others that shot them and now they are going to "kidnap" Alex. Now Ben can say see I told you they were here to kill. In the mean time Ben can get the losties to do what he wants them to because of fear. Alex will be held at the Temple.

I was thinking something similar....Ben loves to manipulate situations to make things appear a certain way to get people to do what he wants. I don't think Ben wants Alex dead. I think he suceeded in killing off Karl, but I still doubt that Rousseau is dead. I think she's been tranquilized.

Thinking back to "The Other Woman", and how Ben always calls Alex HIS daughter, even around Russeau, I think Ben sees Alex in a similar way that he see's Juliet. As HIS property.
