He shot Anna because in order for him to get back Walt, he must save Ben. And without telling anyone, killed Anna and Libby (just cause she was in the wrong place at the wrong time)...

anna lucia was pissed at ben and was happy to kill him, michael saw this and used this as an excuse to get the gun from her. he then killed her so he could free ben which he had to do somehow, although killing someone was not part of the deal ultimately. i am sure if he wasnt so utterly desperate and had a little more time on his hands, he could have found another way round it.

Libby would have run and told everyone what Michael had done. That would have jepordised his mission (and thus Walt), so he had to eliminate her. He knew immediately that he had to kill her too, although you can see by the expression on his face how surprised and upset he is to see her knowing what it would mean.

Haha. He does that A LOT. Like, the first time we see him, in Pilot 1 he's screaming at the top of his bloody lungs WAAAAAAAAAAL-AHA-LT! I know I'm not exactly being nice, after all, it's a plane crash. But he does that WAY TOO MUCH!!! :D

I know exactly what you mean.
Everytime I see him in a scene, I expect it to end with a flashback of him in the water crying "WAAAAAAAAALT!"

Well cuz he didn't want her to tell jack or someone did he so he shot her, it was jus an accident her being there. An he did shoot Libby as well, din he.

As stated by Tom and Ben many times. No one had to get shotthat wasn't part of the deal that was a mistake on Mike's end. Like said before in another post. Put your self in Mike's shoes. Your son on the line ,a crazy plane crash that should have killed you both and meractly you survived and when you wake up you find out that your seemenly being hunted by these people who have taken your son. How would you react? You can safetly think now. But how about when the raw prsesure is on? None of us have been in that situation. so we can't judge Mike on how a stupid mistake he made.

His mission was to get Ben out. They didn't say no one could know. Just that no one was to folow him but the four requested of him to bring back. Because think what happen. When Jack and the other survivers found out the Others didn't kill everyone or punsh Mike for them finding out. So there are sevral senarios that Mike could have done to prevent the shootings. But Like I said above. We never know how we would react in his shoes unless we where actualy there in his emotions.

Bottom line: Michael makes bad decisions. Consistently. He's a case of poor judgement combined with some seriously bad karma. Add to that his obsessive-compulsive streak, his martyr complex, and his severe narcissism, and you have a pretty pathetic individual.

Michael sucks. He went through all that guilt and pain after becoming a traitor to the Losties and killing Ana Lucia and Libby, couldn't handle it, told his son, causing Walt to reject him, lost his son anyway, went through more pain and guilt, couldn't take it, tried to kill himself (couldn't)...

After all of that, you might think that he would have learned his lesson, but no. He gets on the freighter and makes the same mistake AGAIN when he thinks he is setting off the "suitcase bomb" that Ben gave him. Evil Ben has to remind Michael that there are innocent ppl on the freighter and it would be wrong to kill them. lol

well after all i think with the exeption of killing ana lucia and libby he was destined to do teh rest to try to save his son be rejected and suffer and then try kill himself yet he couldnt die yet b/c he had to bring the bomb on the freighter and blow it up, cuz it was his destiny as we've seen a lot on this show and now the island is finally done with him, so now we dont have to see micheal anymore unless u want to watch that new show the unusuals, yet in that at least he wont be doing WAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLTT-WAAAHHHAAHHAAALLLLLLT!!!!
