View Full Version : Who Do You Love - NOT!

Went back and checked every listing in the General Discussion forum and this didn't appear so I thought I would bring it up.

We've all mentioned, here and there, in various threads who we like and dislike among the Survivors, Others, Freighter Folks, Dharma & Widmore personnel. But there has never been a place to say who it is you dislike and why.

Maybe you don't like Danielle because French women don't shave their underarms.

You don't like Mikhail because he won't stay dead.

Charlotte gives you the willies and you don't even know why.

Michael grates on your nerves because he's a looser and a rotten dad.

Ben is the guy that, in your eyes, is the Devil incarnate.

Jack really pisses you off because he doesn't need a haircut or shave.

Kate makes your blood pressure go up because she always seems to screw up Jack's plans.

Jin drives you crazy because you are tired of reading sub-titles.

So, who is it? Which characters do you enjoy seeing in trouble or pain? Which one do you hope Smokie gets next? And, most importantly, why...

You've seemed to have summed it all up.

You've seemed to have summed it all up.

Nah, I was just pulling stuff out of the air to get everyone's juices flowing...

Personally, I dislike Kate the most.

I know, I know... Most of the folks here love her, but she is like being in a classroom where the teacher is dragging their fingernails across the blackboard to me...

In my small mind, Kate is the source of a lot of the problems that the Survivors have faced. When she tried to follow Jack and the others and were captured by the Others I really wanted to see a Polar Bear run up and eat her.

She thinks Tom is interested in her when she goes to the showers.

When she went back to "rescue" Jack and got the rescue party captured I was praying she would be on the little island making little rocks out of big ones for the remained of the show.

She screws up getting Daniel's gun when they find Miles.

She flubs up the communications with the Freighter Folks about Naomi's death.

She gets the bejezus knocked out of her by Charlotte when she and Daniel are going to stop the gas attack.

The way she teases both Sawyer and Jack reminds me of some High School age girl. Make up your mind, fer god's sake, woman!

I know the woman is hot, but she reminds me of a brick.

kate is my least favourite too - she is a pest, super moody and has worse decision making skills than locke lol! and i agree - she causes a lot of problems for other people.

As in as thick as a brick - meaning she's only slightly smarter than dirt...;)

If this show was simply a compilation of clips, taken from different angles, of Anna-Lucia getting shot, I would be totally content.

What a great thread! I suppose Shannon and Boone really got on my nerves when they were in it - their fighting was just so petty and irritating, particularly Shannon!

Pickett - he was SUCH a nasty piece of work when he was beating Sawyer, I thought he was really evil and would've liked him to get a more painful death!

Locke's dad was PURE evil and I think the death he got was probably about right for him because of the person who got to do it.

And lastly, Juliet. I really would like Juliet as a character, very much, if she wasn't a home-wrecker. I have no time for women who steal other women's men, it's one of the things that gets me angrier than anything else in life!

Says the woman who would tear Sawyer away from anyone...;)

I like Kate, but I don't like the episodes that center around her. They just don't do anything - like an entire episode that does nothing except teach us about the significance of a toy plane.

Shannon is definitely the worst, and I think Boone would have been better if there was no Shannon.

Locke was my favorite character in season 1 and 2, but now I can't stand him. He needs to transform back into badass Locke.

Nikki and Paolo really got under my skin..glad that story line didn't last any longer.
I really hated Ben at first, now I just think hes an evil genius..
Actually, the ones I've disliked the most are dead, except for Charlie of course.

If I HAD to pick one I would say Jack, he is a very poor leader in my opinion, but hay, we all have different ways we would handle a situation's, so who knows maybe I am wrong.

I agree with Turnip--get rid of Sawyer :-) Oh, that's not what you said? HA HA. No, Really, I do agree-- I dont like any home-wreckers. Wish Juliet and Kate would just stay with one man--I dont care who--well, maybe not Ben. And Jack, quit kissing Juliet and then telling Kate you love her. Didnt he do both in one show? I may sound old fashioned but it works. Just doesnt make for good tv, i guess.

I'm still going thru some old past seasons I've never seen. And if Michael screams 'w-a-l-l-l-l-t' one more time...

I used to like Locke the best--thought he had some connection with the island. But since he had Sawyer kill his dad, or maybe since he was wrong and the sky turned, now he's all lost and dictatorial. dont wanna see him go, though. Just want him to get back to where he was. Though he has consistently made some bonehead decisions.

Gosh, the Others are looking better all the time. Wish our Losties would show some character improvements. I thought that was gunna be a theme of the show--how the Island helped them better their lives. Now we see in the future those who made it off are really bad off...

Aw, come on. It's not like they don't both deserve it.
One minute Kate's kissing Jack, next she's jumping in the sack with Sawyer.
As for Juliet, well she was sleeping with another woman's husband.

What goes around comes around, I guess ;)

NOOOOOOOOOOOO We can never get rid of Sawyer! I hope they never kill him off, I'd be so upset!
As for the character improvements, one of the things I love about the show is that the characters have flaws, and Jack isn't that likeable because of his flaws, so he's not just 'the hero' - I really like that about the show!

Everyone is very true to their characters, if that makes sense. And some of them bug me, but I wouldn't want any of them off of the show. Accept for Nikki and Paolo!

did u see the extras dvd where they showed ana lucia making that scene?? she has those jeans on that are cut really low on the waist and after the scene is finished she lifts up her singlet to show the bullet gadget thingy that makes it look like she was shot. anyway her stomache is 1 of the sexiest things i have seen.i could go on but u get the picture :)

Yea, I guess youre right. I like that they have flaws. And they can even get worse before better--but in the end I hope they get better. Right now I dont even want them to get off the island cuz their lives get so messed up. So they're trying to get off and were rooting for them not to.

OK, another thing I dont like--none of em trusts each other. I dont mean secrets from their past, but on island stuff you'd think they would be workin together. I can see Locke and some not seeing eye to eye but even jack and kate dont tell stuff to eachother. Well at least Jack doesnt tell kate.

I have never like Michael. I love the actor himself (he was an AMAZING Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet) but i just can't stand his over acting on the show. I agree whole-heartedly about the screaming "WAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLT" comment...jeez-louis.

Shannon annoyed the crap outta me until I saw the episode where her dad died. She became a bit more real.

I actually cheered when Ana-Lucia was shot by Michael. I don't like Michelle Rodriguez in anything she does. She always over acts and purses her lips, like it's going to make her point more valid or something.

I just re-watched the Nikki and Paolo episode. I love how they managed to keep making fun of how they randomly introduced them with Sawyer saying "Who the hell are you?" all the time. It feels like they tried to bring them in as legit characters, but it just didn't work so they had to clean up the mess and just make a ****ty (yet slightly amusing) episode to kill em off. Thankfully.

I was super surprised to see Bai Ling make an appearance. I've watched that episode numerous times and I still don't get it. She's in my friend's movie, The Gene Generation, and he had hinted to me a long time ago that she had something to do with Lost (since he knew I was so obsessed). Didn't believe it till I saw it. I honestly thought he was joking.

Jeez, apparently I'm in an angsty mood and feel like ripping into everyone.

I don't like Charlotte, her facial expressions annoy me. Miles is interesting. I am really more interested to see where his story is going to go.

Juliet....oh Juliet...with her slight smirk. I loved when Kate kicked her ass. I wanted to murder her myself when she told Jin that Sun had an affair. Oh that made me so mad!!! The whole Jack and Juliet thing annoys me.

Wow, I got riled up here. hasn't been the best day. Guess it's better to take it out on Lost characters than real people, lol.

Yes, your wrong. Don't get me started!

And Gilligan, I have to insert a correction. I love your postings but here ya go:

Jack didn't kiss Juliet in the "because I love you" episode. Juliet volunteered to go back to the beach and kissed him and said, "don't wait up."

I pay close attention to Jack scenes that involve kissing, hugs, taking off of shirts, breathing etc.

Personally I can't stand Charlotte. She is a caniving (is that spelled right?) ...she is a caniving. whiny little bitch and I can't stand her teeth!!! Every time she opens her mouth it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. She makes me want to hurl....

I liked the episode. I thought the spiders were a good indication of how fickle the ISalnd can be.

but, WHY did they throw the diamonds in the shallow grave with Nikki and Paulo? Why not keep them? Even if they have no monetary value, you could use them for something...fishing lures...cutting stuff...just admiring them....

I'm wondering how long Charlotte will last on the island actually - I reckon she'll last a fair amount of time considering the reason why she's there, but Miles is the most dangerous, and most likely to kill anyone - he said he'd 'take care of Charlotte' and I wouldn't be surprised if he killed one of our Losties in the finale.

That's a very good point. Diamond is the hardest substance you can find, it will cut practically anything. They might well have come in handy at some point.
I guess the reason was two-fold -

a) They had already caused enough trouble & it was a way of disposing of them and preventing anyone else coveting them leading to more trouble.

b) It's a kind of poetic gesture, in the sense of - "here are your diamonds. were they worth dying over? Now they are no use to either of you"
That is to say, it was highlighting the moral of the story.

I can't get my head round Miles' character.
He's supposed to be some sort of Psychic/Charlatan/Ghost-Buster, but now he's on the island hes acting like he's a hitman or Special Ops or something.
Not just him though, there's a few others who's behaviour doesn't seem to fit with what we know of them. I'm thinking about Charlotte - an anthropologist who seems to be able to kick ass and had no problems bludgeoning poor Kate over the head when she needs to. And then there's Juliet, the mild-mannered family orientated fertility doctor who also happens to be expert in deception who can also handle herself, as well as being a cold-blooded killer.

Do we just not have the full story on these characters yet, because they seem rather out of sorts with their past from what we know of them at the moment.
