Why is Danielle's radio transmission in French and she speaks English. Maybe she only spoke French at the time, but then how would she learn English? What are your thoughts about this?
I had another inconsistency, but I cant think of it right now.... something with Locke. I'll add it to this thread later. Does anyone have any other "errors" they have found?

That's a good question - maybe she thought the most likely people to know where the Black Rock was were French people or something?

Danielle's accent isn't very french authentic, at least I don't think so... but anyway, most frenchies speak English as a second language, so... that's probably why her loop message was in French, her native tongue.

Well she was on a French expedition so maybe she assumed since they were out of touch that people would be looking for them and those people would be speaking French. Makes perfect sense.

you would think she would try every language possible.
what would the French being doing in the S. Pacific?? Obviously they never found her, but how long did they look? did they give up? are they still looking? Will there be a 3rd party battling for control of the Island?

Perhaps there was a war going on in the North Atlantic.

That's more of what I was getting at. If she knew two or more languages, why would she not try every opportunity she could have. Something does not add up for me.

Something else I noticed last night... go back and check it out if you can:
The epsiode, "Everybody Hates Hurley" when Hugo is in the food closet and Jin speaks english to him.. Hugo is drinking from a paper milk container. On the side of the jug, there is a picture of a boy that says "Missing" above it.
I believe the picture is of Walt. I will try to find a screen shot or something to support my idea. I hope someone else has noticed this or goes back to sees what I saw.

Found one. Now that I see there are a few pictures of this, I am assuming it has been discussed at some other time.

Few thoughts:
1) Maybe she indeed only knows the two languages.
2) Maybe there was limited 'recording time'.
3) If you're leaving a distress call, if you leave it in too many languages who's the say it will ever reach the intended target? If I were (insert nationality here) and spoke no other languages I probably wouldn't listen to a complete message rambling on in other languages waiting for it to say something that I understood. I'd just say, "oh well, I can't understand it, screw it".
In the event someone picked it up, no matter what language it was in, one could assume that they probably would be intrigued enough to hunt down an interpreter and that would be that.
