What if all of this is a cover-up by Oceanic Airlines?
What if Oceanic doesn’t want the plane to be found so they created this elaborate story to explain it’s disappearance? Maybe there was this top-secret item onboard and they don’t want it falling into the wrong hands. Who knows, but lets look at the facts.
We know that Oceanic Airlines reported finding Flight 815. See post on “General Discussion” section. There is a link in one of the posts that you can watch the news report. From the report, we know the plane was off course when it went down. It was found in deep water at the bottom of a ravine but there are conflicting reports about its exact location. All of the passengers perished but they do not show you any of the bodies for “legal reasons”. (interesting)
What I can decipher from the report is that:
1. If you go look for the plane, you won’t find it on its normal flight path. Look somewhere else.
2. If you do look for it, it will be nearly impossible to find in deep water and in an even deeper ravine.
3. They don’t really give you its location because of the conflicting reports. This tells me that you really aren’t going to find it.
4. They say there are bodies on-board, but are they really there? They didn’t show any bodies and the plane is probably in too deep to go after them. So just take our word on it that they really are there.
They used that report to throw people off while they send out the freighter to look for it along its flight path. The reason they didn’t find it right away is because of the Looking Glass station. It was hiding the island and blocking communications to and from it.
We get another clue when we find out that the Penny isn’t associated with them.
It all points to a cover-up and salvage operation by Oceanic.
Maybe the section of plane that we see everyone meet at in S4-Episode 1, is where the top-secret item is.
Didn’t it seem that the parachuter knew Jack? If he had Jack’s bio and read it before he left, then maybe he did know him. Jack did give them his name when spoke to them.
The one thing that doesn’t fit is how did they have a picture of Des and Penny?
