Doesnt the smoke have mechanical parts to it? I thought Locke was grabbed last season by some sort of chain and pulled into a hole. Also, when the smoke looked at Locke and Echo it seemed to be reading their minds, suggesting it could be an extention of some other being on the island, or a part of the island.
I dont think Ben went into the secret room to time travel or teleport to see Whidmore, because he ended up in Iraq in the desert. What are the chances he would get back in the right time in that room if the process was so random.
The scene with the coffin: I dont see how it could be anyone from the island that wasnt one of the Oceanic 6, because why would they only bury one of them (i.e. why would they bury sawyer and not clair)
Why wouldnt Ben or Locke be able to find the cabin? It moves, like the island? Ben said Whidmore isnt able to find the island, and Ben cant find the cabin?
Why did they kill the doctor?

Also why would whidmore kill sayed's wife? why wouldnt he just kill sayed? he had no idea he was a target, now he is aware and helping hunt down his men. it seems counterintuitive.

Whatever Ben did to end up in the desert, it wasn't the first place he landed. Or was it? Why was he wearing a parka and looking like he was freezing cold when he gasps for air? Did he go to the remote station where Penelope's folks discovered the e-m anomalie? The whole episode has him traipsing around like James Bond or Jason Bourne. He's in Tunisia; no, Iraq; no, London.... He was also someplace very cold, or perhaps the trip through time and space is very cold? Why the cut on his arm? Did he go fight the remote station dudes? When did he become so adept at fighting? He pulls a Jason Bourne there in the desert with his police stick and swift moves. He can ride a horse with the best of them. He obviously does this a lot because he's a preferred customer. Is he out course-correcting? Where did he learn all of those moves, anyway? He's such a nebbish!

He didnt kill Sayid cos he wants the O6 alive and the best
way to getto them is through family.
I agree that Ben probably didnt time travel at that time.
IT is hinted in the ep that he can time travel, but there
are other easy explanations for the events, so its 50/50
chance right now.
Yes it seems there is a mechanical side to the monster.
It makes mechanical sounds, sparks are seen in it, and the
blast door map mentions a major malfunction in the Cerberus
system. Cerberus was what the Dharma called the monster
so this sentence suggests that it either is or was at least part
machine
