Ok threw the Mobisodes we find out in episode"Pilot part 1" that an image of Jack's father was shown speaking to Vincent telling Jack the same thing an image of Walt told Locke in episode "Throughthe looking Glass" and that is "You have work to do" and Ben's last words to Locke before leaving him for dead was "I hope Jacob helps you John".

I have a theiory that Jacob has been the source of almost all illussions except for the dark Yemi that lead Eko to his death that one I belive is Smokie. As for the rest they seemed to guide our Losties and these are the ones I belive are Jacob. So I think Jacob has been guiding our losties since the pilot. Locke has been chosen by both Jacob and Smokie, It seems they are battling it out for control over him.

I agree partially, i do think jacob is the source of all illusions (including ekos) but i dont think that smokie is battling for the losties, in fact i think they are working together to pull something together. the only thing wrong is that i guess jacob doesnt tell ben about smokie since it seems the others have know clue what it is. But like i have said before, i think smokie is the original island inhabitant, taking care of the island. i dont know if the others were there or not, including jacob.

Not battling for all losties. Just Locke. Seems heholds the key to something majoron the island. Because both Smokie and Jacob have revealed them selves to Locke. Bothhave taken physical action to get their point over to Locke.

I belive Smokie was there before the Hostiles. Perhaps he is how Jacob receaved his powers he displays? But im not sure Jacob's stance on the island or with the others they claim him to be the leader. But yet he crys out for help secretly to Locke. This is why It sounds to me Jacob is being heald against his will as if he was kidnaped so to speak. This is why I belive he was an enity on his own not the leader of the others . But being used by them.
