How the hell could she survive a rocket launcher exploding her house while she is inside?? Unless the island needs her for something? But what?

Thoughts?

This could be why Kate has Aaron. Maybe Claire has a greater calling on the island or something.

thats a good point,if the island did save claire then definate its for a reason. i wonder what consequences will arise from Aaron being raised by another

Claire wasnt in the house, I thought that was obvious, I know that Sawyer said she was asleep in the house BUT . . when he found her , she was in her back yard under her washing that had been hanging on her washing line.

Now dont get me wrong its still amazing to survive your house getting blown up when your out the back , but she was unconcious and when you think about it at the time of the explosion, sawyer was closer to the house then she was and he didnt even get a scratch.

I guess you could really be asking where the mercenarys such bad shots that they couldnt kill sawyer hiding as he ran / hid behind those HUGE white picket fences ?

Well, it seemed EXTREMELY important to psychic man first season that Claire raise her baby herself, and was, I think, the reason he put her on that plane
(forseeing that it would crash and she couldn't reach CA). And Kate, who never seemed like a mother figure or that she was ready to be one, is protecting future Aaron for some reason. I kinda have a feeling she knows Claire is still alive on the island but for yet unknown reasons, she won't go back herself. She must protect Aaron.

The first thing she said was- Charlie? Even before she said, "where's Aaron".

Since we see the pilot telling them to hide, Aaron crying..........I wonder if Claire dies saving her baby. Though that guy would shot them all dead.
And there is Desmond's dream of seeing Claire get on the helecopter. But, was she holding Aaron? Maybe the pilot tries to fly the losties out & the head guy shots it down??????

Definitely. She wasn't in the house.

I wish they never brought up the idea that "you can't die if the island doesn't want you to" because I think people have been too sucked into it. For one, it may apply only to people who have escaped the island when the island didn't want them to - like Michael and Walt and the Oceanic 6 in the future. To me, it seems like much more of a curse than anything. Just look at Michael off the island, Jack off the island, Hurley off the island, Sayid off the island - they all seem to have lost every thing they once had and become depressed, not caring if they die along the way.

Maybe the Island makes the rules. So if the Island's rules state you don't die then you don't die.

Claire I think (While being a single mum, and im the first to say theres nothing wrong with that) Is an inoccent as far as we know... (and before you all go on about it i know she wasnt on the list, but even so....) and being an innocent i dont think she will be or be able to be killed.

Emily deRaven said in an interview that she hasn't gotten the dreaded call yet (the one telling her she's off the show) and she admits to getting "on the helicopter"... She said she hopes she just falls off. Her words, not mine...

k what i read first said that claire fell off then came back to be a foiler..where was the interview..cause that is what i thought for the a while-jack feeling guilty etc..but then it came back and said no i thought that is not how she dies or how kate gets aaron...im not saying its not true, i just have not heard this for a while now...

Just a thought - if Jack's Dad is Claire's Dad then isn't it obvious that is why Claire didn't die in the explosion? If Christian Shephard is in the cabin then he must have some clout around there.

That just hit me like a ton of Bricks! That one sentence pretty much describes what had happend or was in the process of happening to each of the main characters when the plane crashed. Before coming to the island each person "LOST" atleast one person of signifigance to them or "LOST" touch with reality or "LOST" the ability to walk. On the island women "LOSE" the ability to concieve babies. Ben has been fighting against anyone coming to the island so he doesn't "LOSE" power or the control he has on the island. And now we have seen Widmore say that he "LOST" the island to Ben

As far as time triveling goes you seem to "LOSE" hours/minutes when traveling to the island via helcoptor

Thats some freaky stuff!

Reminds me of a Simpsons quote:

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around a city, keeping its speed over fifty and if its speed dropped, it would explode! I think it was called... "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down"

It could be that the island doesn't want her to die OR it could be the lead up to her death - Charlie had a lot of lucky escapes even before Desmond came on the scene - that could have been one of her last chances

hey i have heard a lot of people on here keep saying so much for desmond's vision of claire getting on a helicopter i remember him saying that but i thought he only told charlie that because in his real vision he sees charlie in a room with the beeping yellow light and penelope on the screen , and because of that vision he told charlie a little white lie so he could get charlie down in the looking glass just so he could have contact with penelope also right before charlie goes for a swim to the looking glass desmond changes his mind and tells charlie he would go that he could be wrong or something to that effect . did i hear incorrectly or just forgetting either way please someone let me know this is driving me crazy thanks

Desmond told Charlie he saw Claire get on the helicopter, he never "saw"
Penny in those visions, so he wasnt lying to Charlie about that.
