I just watched the pilot episode again and noticed how it begins with Jack laying down flat in the jungle. After seeing last week's episode, it looked eerily similiar to Ben finding himself lying flat on his back in the middle of the desert. After Jack finally gets up and heads to the beach, it looks like initially there is nothing there.....then it seems out of nowhere the plane is there with everyone scrambling around.

It sure seemed like Jack was possibly "teleported" there ...who knows...maybe the rest of the main characters were too.

doesn't seem possible that jack was teleported , i only say that because the flashbacks for jack clearly show him in the airplane talking to the stewardess and rose while there was some turbulance.

I just watched it and I agree with Lostie108. It was a good observation though.

I had noticed that too but couldn't think of any connection. I wouldn't be surprised if there was something to it though.

Could be possible that upon entry to the island they were teleported from the plane to the land.

But more than likely, as with the eye closeup they like to use, it could just be a common theme.

Teleported as the plane began to break up? Very interesting thought. Very interesting.

I think its a common filiming theme. But it would be cool if that is how Jack gets back to the island. I mean, it could all end with Jack teleporting into himself and waking up in the bamboo, so the show comes full circle. Or would that just be a poor rip-off of "Groundhog Day".

For all the survivors of 815 to escape a crash of that magnitude without any serious injuries or deaths is next to impossible. Whether they were teleported from the plane to the island, or something else we haven't thought of I don't know. They were "meant" to be on that island so something ensured they survived that crash. Also, think about how far away Jack was from the plane when he awoke after the crash. Everyone else seemed to have been relatively near the plane after it crashed.

No it's not, people survive plane crashes all the time. And only 70-some of 324 passengers survived, so not everyone survived. Plus, we saw quite a few people had serious injuries and died from them. Some people are just lucky.

Yeah, not quite sure where my head was on that one. Sorry all. It could still be possible that some unknown factors ensured the main characters survival, the one's who are "supposed" to be on the island.

I can't for the life of me understand why people think something couldn't have happened, based purely off of the flashbacks and forwards.

I think it was a good observation and isn't it funny how no one was actually seen in the plane once it crashed, only in the flashback ... save for a few insignificant people. The point I'm making is this ... I don't think they were teleported there, but it is possible they were placed there unwillingly while unconscious. Perhaps they were abducted by Ben or Widmore or even someone else entirely.

This is the heart of my theory. The games for instance obviously being played by Ben and Widmore. I don't know why they would be abducted, only that it is a good possibility and a part of this game they are playing.

The flashbacks might not even be real. They could be memories that were planted in the losties heads to screw with them. Same with the flash forwards. Who are we to say they actually happen, other than us thinking it. It would be one hell of a swerve to make us believe these flashes, only to find out they never happened.

I know a lot of you don't want to believe this, but it seems like a good theory. There are quite a few theories on here I think are very plausible. I mean come on, how the hell would a plane completely and utterly be torn to shreds and all those people somehow survive? Like the thread starter said ... how did Jack end up in the jungle? How did the dog end up perfectly fine without a scratch and out of his cage from the cargo bay? How do pregnant women seem fine through such a trauma? Etc, etc.

How do 2 halves of a plane crash on opposite sides of the island and have all those people survive? As far as the smoke creature goes ... it might not even be real. That could be a delusion put into their heads. The polar bears could have been planted or could be delusions, along with a lot of things. I mean there were doctors on the island screwing with pregnant women, so what is to say they didn't screw with peoples minds. Look at war veterans that come back with flashes of the war. Some of them come back delusional as hell.

For all we know, they are all mental patients they took from a nuthouse and placed there. Jack thinks he's a doctor, but really he's a loon. :)

Just my thoughts. Good post.

Re-reading this old thread, I think my only mistake was using the word "teleported" instead of "time travel".
