Has anybody noticed that it seems like Jack is always wrong. I went back and watched seasons 1 and 2 over the past few months and, knowing what i know now about season 4, Jack is wrong A LOT. Everything he thinks the group should do and everything he thinks about other people is wrong. For example, when the 815ers were holding ben captive in season 2, jack thought he wasnt an other and that they should let him go. Also with him not going with locke to the barracks and wanting to get on the ship seems like it was the wrong idea. im not going to trust his thoughts very much anymore

I just watched season 1 over again and you are right Jack is wrong a lot especially about the hatch. I'm not a big Jack fan anyway.

i agree, I was disgusted when he interfered with Sayids torture of Henry Gale. I've always liked Jack, but also questioned why he stayed in a leadership role. He did make some bad judgement calls. He made some good ones as well, I mean he's responsible. You can trust him to watch the meds...oohhh wait.uh He can keep the pistols secure....oohhh wait.uh
at least he aligns himself with the right people, like Juliette...oohh wait.uh
he will get everyone off the Island when he makes the SAT phone call....ohhhhhhh shhiii*****

He might be wrong in a lot of his thinking, but I don’t think it's entirely his fault. Crazy things have happened, and I believe he truly cares about everyone and bases his decisions on what he thinks will keep everyone safe, including trying to kill Locke!

Jack is usually wrong about things - and even as we've seen from flash forwards, he was wrong to leave the island (according to him). But, at the same time, Jack is the voice of reason on this island. Whether he's right or wrong doesn't really matter, the decisions he makes are what would be considered the right choices at the time. Even if it's ultimately the wrong choice to make, 90% of people would use the phone to call the freighter in the hopes of rescue. The only people who disagreed with the choice, at the time, were Locke and Ben. And let's face it, they aren't the most believable people.
But it all goes back to the whole faith vs. science argument that always comes up in Lost. Jack is always making the reasonable decisions.

i think he is wrong about alot of his decisions because h looks more closely at the actual facts and not what his heart wants him to do, for example letting ''henry gale'' go , he saw no reason why he might of been an other, so there for why not?
but locke is a big chance taker, but he is a man of his word ( otherwise he wouldnt of let ben go) and so there for would of wanted gale to stay in the hatch until everythign was OK!
but i think now i will look more closely at what decision jack makes, maybe this could be a major break through, maybe we have hacked the writors Matrix code for programmin jack's character.

Ys, I think this show may be a shot at doctors in general, since they all think they know everything from medicine to plumbing. Jack is a smart guy within his field, but not a leader of men in a crisis situation. I think his failings ventually come back to haunt him, as shown in his weekend trips to Australia hoping to crash again.

I agree that Jack is wrong about a lot of things, but Locke's made some big mistakes too, I think it depends a lot on circumstance, and generally on science or faith, and the island is more in tune with the faith side!

but also questioned why he stayed in a leadership role.
Bingo! He's pretty much a brat who makes bad decisions and pouts when he doesn't get his way. I'm a glad his role has been limited this season.

Jack made himself leader too - why everyone went along without a vote is beyond me. This isn't 'Survivor' - you won't be voted out for taking the lead - so someone else should have called for some formal vote for leader - Jack, Sawyer, Locke, etc...
