Yes, my initial thought was that Kate was doing something for his daughter (he had with Cassidy)

That would also be something he doesn't want Jack to know about.

He set up a trust fund in her name with the money he made from conning the fellow inmate who embezzled $10 million from the US gov't and turning the money over to the US again. He got a part of it and gave it all to her.

Another quick theory....as far as i remember (up to this point) Kate doesnt know much about Sawyer and doesnt know that he has a kid. She does know about the man that conned his parents (lockes old man) and he killed him on the island. The reason people call him Sawyer. Maybe her arrangments have somthing to do with that.

i think it has something to do with money..but if he set up a trust fund in his daughters name, then kate would not need to get involved with that...my intital thought that i posted somewhere else..wasnt there alot of money he scammed from that one woman in s2??? im thinking he has alot stashed somewhere and wants kate to get it..now im not so sure about giving it to his daughter as that would mean that kate would have to let out that she spent more than just a day or so (til he died what did jack say about the 2 that died a couple days?)..im wondering if kate is suppose to get it and live off it for her and aaron

The timing of the thing is off. First, if Sawyer asked her to do him a favor once she got back it would be something done around trial or pre-trial or while Jack was still in a huff. And was she talking to Sawyer on the phone? What was he doing, calling from the island?? She got the call, then did Sawyer a favor. She accepted Jack's proposal and I think it's sincere. She asked him to trust her and he can't/won't. She wouldn't have waited until that moment to do Sawyer's favor from earlier. And I remember Sawyer gave all the $ from the prison scam to Clementine. Jack's cryptic, you're not even related makes me think he knows he is...I loved this episode!

The time gap here also gets to me. Aaron is about three months old on the island, but looks more like a three-year old on the mainland, maybe older. Curious that Sawyer would (or could) call up after three years. I guess that's why we watch the show.

If it has something to do with money, didn't Sawyer already make arrangements when he got out of prison to pass along his money to Clementine? I heard him say that.

I think she was tight lipped about whatever she was doing for "him" (Sawyer) because she knew that it would upset Jack. She knows that the whole "Sawyer situation" is a sore spot with him and is jealous that she ever had/has feelings for him. But if it's indeed got something to do with the money he left for his daughter, why not let Jack know? That's no big deal IMO. It would be odd though. The account was to be set up in his daughter's name and I'd assume then that Cassidy would have been made aware of it already.

I think the sports page Jack was reading was just something he keept and always reminds him self about his father. Something along thoese lines.

As far as to why Arron is much olde rthan he was on the island. It's because the Flash Fwds take place about one- two yrs after the island.

Whoever it was seemed to know Jack also. So don't pull Sawyer out of that coffin just yet. Something to ponder.

Well since Sawyer has this new attitude it seems, Maybe he decides he needs to leave the island after all, and as the O6 are about to leave the island, they realize there is not enough room for an extra person (Sawyer) or for whatever reason he can not go and so he makes kate promise she will either come back for him, or send help?

- Now going with this theory, since it seems Ben is able to come and go from the island, and locate the survivors that leave the island, maybe kate was talking with him on the phone and arranging to either do something in exchange for sawyers exit off the island, or to go back to get sawyer???

If Sawyer were in the coffin, I would think that Kate would want to attend the funeral (unless a rift comes between them at some point). She obviously did not want to go.

i still think if it had something to do with his daughter it would be very hard to keep it hush hush that he was in fact alive on the island and if he were one of the 2 that died shortly after the crash-what all information could you get and pass on to her in that short of time???..i think his daughter would be too easy...but it could be true..but it would be hard to communicate something to his daughter and not let on he is alive....and she was with him well what 3mos now...the trust fund was set up and she would more than likely know about it or will find out about it once she turns whatever age was set on it..so no need to go and talk to her about that...i dont know...it could be kate being a sneaky fox and really up to something else

Personally i believe there are a few things we learn from the phone calls and i do blieve kate is doing something for sawyer. My 1st thoughts deal with arron ie sawyer is some how responsible for claires death thus kate has to rase arron and sawyer wants to know whats up. Also wants to know what knowledge is around and if people know he is alive and what he has done. Though the part about you could come over for an hour kinda cuts off kate directly talking to sawyer because jack states that sawyer stayed on the island. Therefore i belive Kate was talking to Ben my 2nd realization, yes it deals with sawyer but she is working for ben doing something possibly lying to whom ever is on the phone and she has become another ben assassin? just some thoughts.
