Maybe Miles isn't really a threat

Everyone seems to be pointing that Miles is a threat and that he wants Aaron. Tonight as I was watching I kept being reminded slightly, just slightly of Charlie. Charlie was always trying to help Claire with Aaron. When Claire was pregnant Charlie was always there as well.

Miles is kinda doing the same thing. When he had the blue hoodie on and was staring at Claire and Aaron I was reminded of Charlie. Charlie was always wearing the blue hoodie.

I just can't help but wonder if maybe Miles is a good guy. I don't really feel that threatened by him. So he wants to be helpful and tote the baby for Claire while they travel through the jungle. Charie did the same thing in the beginning.

Now I'm not saying I'm all for a Claire/Miles ship but I'm just saying what if.....

Miles isn't the bad guy? :eek: please don't hurt me!

I am not sure what to think of Miles, 1) He seems to know something is going to happen to Claire 2) He also saw Christian at the same time as Claire 3) His scenes kinda creep me out like Ben's ( granted I think Ben is good)

I can't compare Charlie to Miles....Charlie helping Claire was different because they were all on that plane together so he really wasn't a threat. Besides, by the time Aaron was born Claire and Charlie already had established some form of a relationship. Now Miles just gets dropped off with a group of people that has already proven to be a bunch of liars, murderers, and all there NOT to save them. So it's weird that he'd be offering to help her straight away like this........everyone there has every right to question his motives11 (and so do we!!)

He may turn out to be good and or on their side.....but as of now we don't know that.....

He got our sympathies maybe just a little teensy bit during the show, but that's all. While he and the other 3 scientists don't know the extent of what's going on, he's still a little creep. But I'm a Ben lover, so who listens to me, anyway? lol

That laugh he made really has me puzzled. I will give Miles credit that I think he would have alerted Sawyer if her walking off with Christian was wrong, but he didn't. :rolleyes: So does he think this is so funny because he knows what's going on with Claire and Sawyer has no clue?

Absolutely! I think he knows the whole thing....it's clear that he wants to stay as far from Keamy and those guys so I think he would have called for Sawyer had he believed there was trouble. The situation he saw Claire and Aaron (and Christian!) in was one he felt as docile.

The way Frank told Claire, Sawyer and Miles that Keame would "kill them ALL" means to me Miles has deviated from his original mission and is viewed as a traitor by the freighter folk.

Miles is a wise guy, greedy, and sometimes he is funny. I think he's ok. He doesn't seem to be out to harm anyone. He has a problem now that Keame wants to kill him.

Miles is one of those characters that seems to swing back and forth between menacing, weasel-like, and mysterious. He has a bad attitude and could have helped Claire if she needed it. Apparently he chose otherwise. I don't like him or trust him, but he is interesting because of that paranormal thing he has.

But Miles speaks to the dead. He must have known that "dad" was dead. I thought he wasn't so bad at the beginning of the episode, either, but then he let Claire take off in the middle of the night. What a jerk.

It still makes me laugh when they were all trapsing through the jungle and he asked Claire if she wanted him to hold Aaron and said he was really good with kids. Really good with kids? When would he have a chance to be "really good with kids"?

I don't think anyone knows what the mission for Daniel, Miles and Charlotte really is at this point. At worst Miles is a low level crook like Sawyer. I ahveno clueas to how they really figure into the "Lost" puzzle at this point.

And if you think about it, Miles seemed to be in a much better mood when Claire came up missing, almost jovial (by his standards) when Sawyer was railing at him, he was very calm and not really bothered by Sawyer's remarks.
A pleasant Miles seems like a time to worry!

Wow that a creative way of seeing Charlie in Miles. Where Miles can never take the place of Charlie. He certinly has some of his qualities. Now if he can only get "Big brother" Sawyer with a boot ready to shove up his rear to approve lol.

Could Miles be some sort of a "protector"? This team (Naomi, chopper man, Miles, Faraday, Charlotte) were not really the "type' to do this mission. They are used and I think Miles is the smarter of the 4. He has a great connection to the dead and Faraday has a connection to the time continuum thing, chopper man is an ace at flying, and Charlotte, well, she is an archeologist (recognizing Dharma stuff) and a pain in the butt! Naomi fulfilled her duty by setting it all up, then disposed of. So, they were chosen by the Angel of Death to do a mission? (Abbadon). Maybe Miles is there to distinguish the dead and the living. I would want to be Miles.

the funny thing is that it seemed like such a sawyer move to me...couldnt you easily see the sawyer from earlier seasons doing and saying the exact same thing if somebody had issued a "restraining order" against him? kind of a sly f*ck you to somebody for telling him what he can or cant do...

Oh I must say I didn't see it coming that Miles would mellow! I was very surprised cos I saw him as a major threat! But now I'm not so sure either - he reminds me of Sawyer a little - Sawyer wasn't very likeable at the start and was always a smart-arse and seen as a threat, and Miles is the same. He's after money, but seeing what the men have done it looks like he's changed his mind for now at least - it's scary how he looked at Claire - I really don't want her to die, she's a sweetheart!

As a lot of people have stated Miles does have some Sawyer and Charlie qualities. Of course now that Claire has disappeared i wonder if Sawyer is gonna kick his a$$.

Sawyer puts the baby down and beats the heck outta Miles.
