What if they were all part of some social experiment of some kind. Maybe the 2 halves of the plane never really crashed. Maybe they were staged as well and there memories were all planted or messed with. For all we know, Jack isn't really a doctor and Kate isn't really wanted by the law. Hurley isn't really a nutjob and Sawyer was never a con-man. Maybe Locke could always walk and so on and so forth. There memories could have all been placed in there heads as part of the experiment.
Maybe that is the heart of the Dharma Initiative or maybe that is all part of their delusion. Maybe they are not even on an island. Maybe they are all in an asylum, like Hurley supposedly was and is once he gets off the island again. Maybe they never really got off the island and the flash forwards are all part of their delusion. We really don't know, but I think it is a good possibility that this is all just some ****ed up mind ****.
The possibilities are endless!

I would hate it if that was the case. I think the producers have promised it won't be a 'dream' ending.

No, I don't mean a dream exactly. What I'm thinking is they were abducted by some twisted people and placed on the island perhaps. Their minds were messed with and memories were planted. What if Alex isn't dead, but it was all a setup orchestrated by Ben, to make them believe him and she was part of the scam. I mean, why in the hell else would someone stage a plane crash of over 300 people? These are wealthy people we are talking about ... Widmore, Paik, etc. Penelope could easily have lured Desmond in as part of the scam and likewise someone lured each of the others as well.
I can't wait to see some more. Dammit I wish the show was on everyday, instead of once a week.

Actually I really like this idea. I think it could fit it with the "rules" thing between Ben and Widmore. It fits in with the game theory.....one big game run by some very important and wealthy people....a massive social experiment / game. And why not?
Actually, I don't know what I think anymore. I guess that's what I like about this show....not knowing what is actually going on. It's a million times better than Cinderella (the other TV thing that gets discussed in our house over the dinner table. Can anybody please tell me exactly what Prince's do? My 4 year old wants to know what their job is and I'm having difficulty understanding it myself. Cheers.)

This sort of sounds like the movie "Magic Christian" with Peter Sellars and Ringo Starr, where they sold tickets on a cruise ship just to really rich people and it was all fake.
