The guy next to Michael in the bed is one of a few people, as confirmed by the writers, but Jacob was not an option as far as I can remember.

Ben is Michael Emerson... the best actor on Earth.

jacob is definitely something like maybe a time machine? is that the ultimate place to go so they can change the past/future? that would explain why some appear they have not aged. (like those from the last season, the guy who recruited juliette.)

could the "box" ben referred to, that if locke were to imagine anything, it would be there. well, maybe this is some kind of sci-fi way to explain how there is so much knowledge by ben. he has been jumping around in the future following sayid and sayid did question how he did so.

we also have the newcomers which mention keeping a "constant" which would explain why desmond showed up in jack's back flashes and desmond's photos with penny were slightly altered in different episodes. time/space continuum....they are jumping around in time. i think we will see that is why some people become "undead".

Penny was definitely the same actress in the whole show of Lost so far. (Remember her from "The Mind of a Married Man"?)

Anyway, some mentioned on the old forum that it was very apparent photos sitting on desks like the old lady in the shop, etc. were obviously photoshopped. I'm sure the producers didn't think we would zoom in on them so much but they do seem to do a lot of things on purpose.

So the question is now, did Desmond put himself in Jack's life on purpose? Did some of the people get purposely put in each other's lives by this whole fate thing from the island and time travel? Did they all change their own lives?

Think about this:
Hurley won the lottery (he would have known the numbers if he knew the future)

Locke isn't paralyzed now, which means he never got pushed, he could have changed that.

Desmond has the magnetic force causing him to jump around in memory from the past, present and future.

Ben had a list of people with their whole "life history". He could have picked these people on purpose to be put on the "flight". Maybe he just wants Widmore's island as his own???????

Juliette and the whole fertility thing is still a mystery. Maybe people who are not really alive yet because they are in the past cannot fulfill a pregnancy?

I'm sure we could come up with some more!

that is true, maybe the future was changed or the past was changed because penny is desmond's CONSTANT! that would explain why she keeps popping up thru his life but he's so confused why....because he's been doing a little time travelling himself. just as he told her he would call one day and he did, which was the future!!

I'm still saying that Jacob is the mind of the island... and that's why you've never heard him speak...

Viewers have never heard Jacob speak, but Locke has right? Or did that episode actually let us hear it thru Locke's hearing?

If he's the "mind of the Island", then the Island is alive, and thus could be named Jacob Island. Since the Island is or has a type of portal in which things can teleport- could this be related to Jacob's Ladder from the Bible? This is where angels ascend and descend into Heaven. It was named after Jacob saw it in a vision...something to do with the promise to Abraham...

I just stringing together some ideas...don't mind me.

Thanks for your help! Since the Losties cannot change their past, maybe they can alter their futures? Obviously we know there is something to do with time travel...and Ben being able to hop around. Hmmm. He has found a way to choose the people he feel are centric in helping him buy the island.

Having Hurley on his side as a lottery winner....money. The people he chose as the strong survivors...like having a doctor, con-artist, manipulators, murderers, ex-war trained people, teachers, cops, psychologists, artistic/philosophical people, survivalists, etc. This is to maintain the strong stay alive so Ben can achieve his final goal.

We know they planned a beginning and an end to the show. (Jack was going to be killed off.) He may not be as centric to the future of the show as much as some of the others.

Who knows but as for "Jacob" it is some forecasting for Ben to know what is happening in the future. He knew about the World Series, Juliette's sister's child, and many other things. It is a portal of sorts in that house. The only ones who can get there are the ones drawn by its power. Locke has had a magnetism with the island which is unexplainable the whole series. Is Locke Jacob in the future? Or is Jacob Locke's future alter-ego? Is that why Ben has had a competitive nature with him?

Locke has had ties to certain people who are definitely "puzzle pieces" like Walt, Aaron, Ben, etc....hmmmmmm:confused:

But remember, Ben has made mention that Jack wasn't on "the list" and said something like "Who are we to question who's on the list and who's not?" meaning Ben had nothing to do with these people landing on the island and who was of importance and who wasn't. It seems like they just got a list of names, gave them to Jacob, and Jacob decided who he wanted.

There was a rumour going around that Christian Shephard (Jack's dad, Claire's dad) was Jacob, possibly. But I don't think that's true.

But we did hear him speak, Jon.

For some reason, after looking closely at the Easter eggs last season, I really think Jacob is Locke. He may be a future or past version of him.

There is definitely a link between the Black Rock and the people that ended up on the island. Whether or not it was staged, there's a link. Are the BR ancestors of the Losties?

Also, the man who does age, what's his deal?

ok but he has been on the show we just have not heard him speak...so we have seen him and thats all...it couldnt be christian, locke or any normal characters...i think its an actual person..also with the help me i dont think that has anything to do with the we have seen him but have not heard him..we did hear help me but did not see who was saying it...so i think thats 2 different things....meaning we have seen this person speak (at the same time) and when we did hear, we did not see..does that make sense

also, the penny pic i was referring to was the girl in the pic changed as when the pic was originally taken, they had not casted who would play penny, then once they casted her they retook the pic which was different (which is from my understanding) nothing to do with time travel or anything like that....someone can correct me if i am wrong, but i thought this was confirmed somewhere/sometime ago
