You may be aware that McFarlane Toys has released two series of Lost action figures. Series three would be made up of Sayid, Claire, Desmond and Ben. They might not make series three since they feel there isn't enough retailer interest. As an adult collector, I can tell you that poor sales of Series 2 were due to several factors, none of which were based on lack of fan support. These are my observations:
I barely saw Lost Series 2 action figures at any retail store (I live in PA), and I’ve heard the same from many other fans
The online retail price was in the $15-17 range (series 1 was ~$12.99)
The series was released ‘between seasons’
The voice chips, movie props, and lavish displays caused the high retail price
Lost action figures, including initial design work for the series 3 figures were included in a bonus feature, “Cast in Clay: Creating the Toys of Todd McFarlane”, included in the Series 3 DVD release.
There is a grass-roots movement by the Lost fans to save this line of action figures. The online petition currently has over 1,600 signatures, and this is before Season 4 has even started. Here is the petition link:
