Alpert mentioned in the 50s flashback about a "school for the gifted" (may or may not relate to rest of theory)
There is strong evidence of a war of good/evil. Alpert (Jacob?) and Abaddon are the key entities of good/evil.
Ben works for Alpert(Jacob) and Widmore works for Abaddon.
They recruit "gifted" people, usually at childhood, to fight on their side (or identify if they are good children or bad children...not sure why Alpert "rejected" Locke).
Alpert/Jacob has the ability to resurrect the dead, at least temporarily. Hence Christian being "alive" in jacob's cabin, Eko's brother being "alive" to judge him, Patchy being "alive" in Ben's service, etc...
Do Alpert and Abaddon have 4 toes each, as in remnants of the "old race" that killed each other in a war except for those two?
Darma was (unwittingly?) working for Abaddon, hence Alpert recruited Ben away to destroy them from the inside, leading to Ben being his faithful servant all these years?
