I think Locke has been conned all along.

Te island or somebody behind the curtain hs gained his confidence so now he will mindlessly do its bidding regrdless of the cnsequences. Even if it leads to someone's death (boone) he thinks it is for the best.

That's what a confidence man does. Cons you.

I say the chopper never actually gets blown up, I for whatever reason can't believe this is how they get off the island, seems forced. But we know Jack and John will come face to face again, when Charlotte, miles, dan, and frank meet up.

Boon's death was an accident. John could have been the one to die if his legs ddin't give out on him.

EX. A friend and I go on a camping trip, while hiking I sprain my ankle. Ont he way back to camp we see a plane that requires investigation in a tree. I encourage my friend to climb the tree. He can deny the request, even if I feel it could change out lives, he has a choice to make. He climbs in, finds a million dollars, then he falls down and dies. This is my fault?

John was searching for answers. Boon was with him for the same reason. There is always attempts in ones or another's life to assign blame to someone when something bad happens. That is the way our egoistic mind works. Locke failed to properly tell Jack of the injuries, we can say he ended up dying because Jack thought it was a broken leg, and not a crushed leg.

It is tempting to assign the blame to Locke, but say you were in Lockes shoes, regaining the ability to use your legs after being paralyzed, and all the other experiences he had that no one else did... wouldn't you have wanted to find out about the plane you saw in the dream? Wouldn't it be part of a bigger picture you are trying to discover?

When i first saw the chopper thats what i first thought, ok how long till Locke blows this up, but like others mentioned the chopper fits about 6 which could be the 6 survivors in the real world, of course they would need a pilot though.

Maybe sayid has the ability to fly the chopper

i was wondering this aswell as he did seem to be tinkering and talking about it. as some people have already suggested - maybe abaddon is referring to the freighter folks when he ask hurley about 'they' and this could be why.

Yea it seems like Sayid has the ability to do anything, related to electronics, but i dont think that he'd be capable of flying a helicopter, but its Lost so we never really know anything.

Unless... (this is my theory...)

Season 4: Get off island
Season 5: Get back to island
Season 6: Wrap up all lose ends... (and everyone dies... I mean, really... how else will they end it?!)
