I think that Ben's man on the freighter is probably Michael.

Oh My Gosh You Could Very Well Be Right! How Else Could He Be Written Back In? The Way He Left Plays Into That Really Well Too

I do think they might be on the boat, but i don't believe that they are 2 of the Oceanic 6, i feel that the Oceanic 6 are all rescued at the same time and Michael already left. I also believe the theory that Michael is in the casket, and the newspaper article said John Latham (or something like that), which leads me to believe that Michael changed his name. He could not be one of the Oceanic 6 because people would know that there was no John Latham on the manifest.
I also think the fact that Frank brought up the manifest should lead us to believe that none of the Oceanic 6 can be native or others because someone would notice that the name is not on the flight manifest.
The flight manifest is also they reason why i have a hard time seeing Kate being one of the Oceanic 6 simply because she was a fugitive and someone would know the name.
Sorry for rambling but i was explaining one thing and i just kept going i know it really doesnt have to do with the thread

You may be on to something there.... very interesting supposition.
A few things to consider. If Michael was "taken" or "rescued" buy the freighter, whatever the case may be. Would they give him access to equipment to communicate with Ben or anyone else for that matter about the names of the people on the freighter? I doubt they would grant him that security level. These people are professionals, they are being funded for a purpose we are not sure of yet. Do you think they would permit some guy they picked up to start communicating with whoever he wanted given this top-secret mission they are on? I don't think so. Just my opinion given the information about the secrecy, security and importance of this mission these people are on. They aren't that dumb, know what I mean?
What if Ethan is still alive,he could be on the boat his anagram means "other man" could be a stretch but just throwing it out there.

why is it so far fetched for Michael to hang himself? He killed to people he probably feels enough remorse, and we don't know what is going to take place between now and the time he hangs himself

exactly I seriously doubt Michael is Bens inside man. Im not doubting he could be on the frieghter, but hes got his son back and thats all he cares about.

ben could well be lying - i mean he does it a lot and pretty well at that. and often he doesnt tel outright lies, just manipulates the words he uses.....

Could Richard be the inside man? We have not seen him lately and Ben often sent trusted people off the island for various purposes (ie recruitment of Juliette). Richard was feeding Ben information on frieghter activites. When it arrived, a group of others took it over after the chopper left. That explains the weird call were someone was not avaialble to talk to Miles, even though this should be crisis mode. Then again, the freighter and crew may have just been hired to ferry the chopper gang and have no clue what they are up to.

I don't think Ben is lying.. how would he know the information about Charlotte and the team?
I don't think that Michael is Ben's inside man. The inside guy WORKS for Ben. Why would Michael do anything for Ben, now that he has Walt back? Plus, how would Michael, from the boat, be able to find out all the information about the freighter people? Who were sent on the mission to find Ben? So, what, he'd either have to get home safe with Walt and then for some reason decide to start working for Ben, or he'd have to get rescued by the freighter, go back in time to before the team set out, do research on them, then go forward in time with the information and then somehow doubly secretly use the communication devices (double because 1. he's some dude they pick up the water and 2. he's calling Ben, the guy they're after). Somehow I don't think that is what's going on.

well he could have another means of accessing that info that he doesnt want them to know of so why not send them off on the wrong trail?

It could be Michael, or it could be someone completely new too. God knows who else Ben has pissed off in his time!
