I think the guy on the boat is Miquel, aka patchy. Here's why, everytime you think he has been killed he shows up again. The last time we saw him was when he pulled the pin on the handgranade. He survives the blast and somehow makes it to the surface where he found by or seeks out the freighter. He would have a motive to turn ben over or play into there hand and sabatoge there plan. Just a thought.
