Sorry, i sit all day in my office with my radio tuned to a classics station. Hotel California comes on at least twice a day. I was listening to the lyrics just a second ago, and it reminded me of LOST. I know, sad. Hey, i'm bored!
Anyway, the line that says "and still those voices are calling from faaaar away!" I swear I instantly thought of the whispers in the forest.
Damn i'm bored. --Tater out--.

Tater, in a couple of posts I've read that you mention work, I always think of the movie "Office Space".
Oh. I almost forgot,...AHH....I'm going to need you to come in on Sunday too.
I've got to go talk to the Bob's.

Close, no cubicles. But definitely have a boss that looks and talks like Lumberg. He's a d!ck. His name happens to be Bob.
Yeah, when i'm here at work, i think of Office Space too. Especially when i get stressed out and want to tear up that damn copier machine!!
I'll make sure to put a cover sheet on my TPS reports. :D

You're right, i have to sing it!!
I know this song's about a brothel, but put it into LOST terms. Locke being lured by the island. Can't kill "the beast". "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!" Insert guitar solo here.

No, it's about The Camarillo State Mental Hospital in Camarillo, California (my home town). They closed it down a few years ago and turned it into a University (CSUCI), which stands for California State University of Channel Islands.
My mom interned at the mental hospital many, many years ago (before my time). Her boss an administrator to all the crazies and was having an affair with one of my mom''s coworkers, who was also having an affair with someone else. Well, the administrator found out and they eventually found the other guy's decapitated head in the surrounding brush of colitas and his body in some lemon orchards nearby.
This is a true story, I'm not making it up. On a side note, my friends and I all thought it was so cool that we lived in the same city as Hotel California.
Here's a pic:

"And I was thinking to myself, this could be Heaven or this could be Hell."
Original Sawyer (Locke's Dad) says to Locke about where they are,
It's a little hot for Heaven ain't it" ? Reffering to Hell
Hurleyto Jack: - Kinda feels like Heaven don't it, I mean you being home, being with Kate and all?

So I called up the captain, "Please bring me my wine"
He said, "We haven't had the spirit here since 1969"
And still those voices are calling from far away...
Oh, yeah. Almost forgot. The captain is dead.

Sill works, "captain" of the Black Rock is dead, his "spirit" hasn't been on the island since 1969

I swear, it's all true. Would I lie to my lost friends? It's located in Camarillo on the way to the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway), like if you wanted to drive to Malibu from Camarillo.
Pretty freaky, huh? No rumors of ghost stories, but they did perform lobotomies there back in the day.
There was a "haunted dairy" not too far away. It was an old abandoned dairy farm that everyone said was haunted. As teenagers, we would go out there and party or some people liked to play paintball because there were ll these different walls. The only thing was you had to like a mile to get to it because they kept it locked up. And on the way was "the haunted barn."

Oh, maybe a little off the subject. But speaking of my mom's job at Hotel California, there was also a lady there that if she was mad at you should would write that person's name on a piece of paper and put it in the breakroom's freezer.

Danielle222 you said they performed lobotomies there. I've heard of those, what exactly is a lobotomy?

It's a surgery that requires cutting into the frontal cortex of the brain nad removing some pieces, I think. Basically, the personal is like metally retarded afterward. They used to perform them on patients for schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety disorders. I think they're banned now. Would anyone like to expand on this subject?

Yes, they are banned now. It was a pretty simple but dramatic methodology to "correct" or manage various conditions, and pretty sad they were allowed to resort to that extreme. The frontal lobe controlled certain of the behaviors that they wanted to extinguish. Unfortunately, it was too widely accepted when alternative treatments were yet unknown. Too many people, for example, dx'd with depression have underlying causes. Head trauma from something like a fall resulting in subdural hemotomas could even present with depression symptoms. People have reported to me also of having things like hemochromatosis (too much iron) that brought on symptoms of anxiety and depression, or rhumatoid arthritis or a dozen other conditions. Wouldn't that be nightmarish to wonder how many might have received lobotomies years ago for that??!
Makes me shiver!
A side note that just came to me after a seminar I recently attended on neuro treatments I thought was just sort of interesting, not necessarily of any relavance here - If someone has schizophrenia, that person will never get rhumatoid arthritis, and vice versa - because both conditions are from ONE gene. That gene could veer one way or it could veer the other, but never possible to veer both ways. Just threw that in cuz I thought it was kind of funny- interesting.

I have to add one thing - I am NOT an authority, so don't anyone take what I said as gospel. It's just some of the things I learned from others who know.
That was definitely not medical advice.
