#15 I think. The writers have made a joke about it before. When Locke brought Ben his dinner when he had him prisoner in the cabin and it was rabbit. In fact, I think Locke said it was the last rabbit. Ben looked at him and asked him if the rabbit had a number on it! Yes, the writers do enjoy their subtle, witty references!

I may be digging here and it could be nothing; however, what if there is more to the rabbit connection.

Rabbits are ground dwellers (hasn't each pod / section) of Dharma been underground. They also have 4 toes (or whatever). Is there a tie in to the statue of 4 toes that they have decided to not address because ABC thought it was too weird? Ya, ABC thought 4 toes was weird yet, they have an upcoming "Ugly Betty" episode with Lindsey Lohan on it. Go figure.

Anyway, could be way off and mean nothing yet, with Lost, you never know.

The writers originally wanted to use a six toed statue and that's what freaked out ABC. They settled on the less freaky, four-toed statue.
Yes, rabbits have four toes but I've never seen one wearing a sandal.
