Freighter episode

Im glade tonight's episode was a Freighter flash Fwd. Now we need a Freighter flash back. we need some history before we need their future lives after the island. unless the past will be disscuss later and isn't realy realtive to the story.

i think those were flash backs... i took it as all events that led up to them getting to the island... especially since niomi was there and curently she seems pretty dead

This Ben/Sam guy started crying but didn't know why. Could his memory have been erased and this story triggered a reaction or somthing?

Exactly that's my point. That is why I said flash Fwd. He is staring at that screen as if he knows the truth and has been there before.

The Archeologist found the Hydra sysmbol and grind ear to ear. She knows about Dharma.


Miles the Gohst whisper seems he has furtherd his ghost whispering skills and created a machine that acts liek ceribo and enchants his mind to further pick up vibes.

I believed him when he said he didn't know why he was crying. Do you? Or is he covering up?

Also is the woman someone? Did they show her face or give a name? I missed that.

im not sure if the woman is someone we know... and yeah i believe him thats why also why i thpought it was a flash back cuz i took that as the reason he went on the mission because he got so emotional when he saw the downed plane... but if there is anything i've learned with this show its that anythig is possible

Good points on the possibility of them being flashforwards, I thought they were flashbacks.

But, Daniel sees the news, and they are showing the plane wreckage. So for your theory of his being a flashforward, this would have to be a taping? That doesn't float in my boat.

For Miles, not much info given to determine.

Charlotte, that seems to be the only one I could say is a possible flashforward. The newspaper can be very old... and her smiling at the collar.

I would hope they would be consistent and show all flashforwards in one episode or flashbacks. If that;s the case, then we should think these are all flashbacks to give information on the characters.

That's true. It was basicaly Daniel's Flash Back that made me think of Flash Fwds. The other three seemed more like Flash backs other than Charlotte's. But your right. Why would all four be watching the current news of flight 815's finding if this wasn't a Flash back. Pluss it makes more sense to do Flash backs. I mean why would we care about their futures if we didn't know any history on them first? So Good point.

I didn't think it was so much that any of them were flash forwards or flash backs but rather what i would call for lack of a better term: flashes to an alternate timeline/reality

think about it this way: the reason Daniel would be most likely to not know why he was crying would be if he had some experience with 815 in an alternate timeline/reality and could unconsciously and/or subconsciously feel that connection but not understand it

with Miles we see him directly changing the reality of the house he goes to in Inglewood

with Charlotte we see her finding what is most likely the polar bear that the Losties kill in season 1 or another polar bear displaced by the workings of the Orchid station and the Casimir effect...she can't believe the headlines because she has experienced a world where there are survivors

with Frank he watches the news and knows it could not be flight 815 because he was supposed to fly it and knew the pilot would have a ring...but what if he is actually staring at his own dead body in that plane on a different timeline/reality in which he actually flew the plane and that happened?

and these four people are then pulled together by the actions of Abaddon in the final flash scene... i don't know what it all means yet but it's some food for thought

I was thinking that the team are sleeper agents of some sort, and the news of the discovered Oceanic plane triggered them into action!

All flashbacks. When Naomi got to the island, she told them that the plane had been found and that they were all dead. The fantastic four all heard the breaking news in their flashbacks:

Daniel and Frank: TV
Charlotte: Newspaper
Miles: Radio

Their reactions are probably more associated with the storied "links" of LOST:

Frank: obvious, he was supposed to have been the pilot of 815
Daniel: Not yet revealed, but may have something to due with his Physics background. It also just may be fear of flying-he was uncomfortable in the helicopter
Miles: Not yet revealed, but speculation has been raised about the dead grandson in the house he "cleansed"
Charlotte: Probably learned of Hanso and Dharma projects from some professor

One thing that I thought about when we first meet Miles as he enters the house. The gradmother said her grandson was murdered. Didn't her grandson look an awfull lot like Walt? Maybe Micheal and Walt did make it back but somehow Walt was killed in the journey. Micheal, the son of the grandmother, told her that he was murdered. Maybe not.

By the time Charlotte saw that newspaper, she had already seen multiple reports of the 815 find. Remember that her friend said something like "haven't you read enough reports on that..."

Yeah, but if we are trying to determine a timeline then we could look at the date on the paper verses what we know (approx date) the date on the island to be. It should be around Christmas. If the paper was dated about the same time as the crash, then we know that maybe Charlotte didn't know about them landing on the island. I just think its a coincidence that she seemed to know about Dharma because of her reaction to the coller from the Polar Bear skeleton.

Im glade you meantioned that part about Frank. I imdiatly thought he was looking at him self on tv. But autmatcaly threw out that thought when he said I was supose to fly 815 that day. But it couldn't be him. Because of one major detail Frank said Seth did and he doesn't. That is Seth always wore his wedding ring.

Still all in all you make a great point. It could very well be an alternate reality situation we are seeing in the freaighter crew's flash backs.
