Starting off with Christian Shepard: He died, His body was on the Plane, Jack found coffin, Jack opend coffin, Jack found NOTHIng. Now with Jacob: We have only been given a 1 second glimps of Jacob, and accoroding to Ben, you have to belive in the Islands ability to see its secret (jacob) and John locke did, and saw jacob...WHom looked liek Horace. Here is my theory of Jacob, He takes the form of the dead bodys on the island. When John saw him, he looked like Horace. Now, i think that Jacob next took Chirstian Shepards body, and used it to get to Claire. As we've been told, Claire plays a importnet part, in the island. soon in summery:

Jacob takes bodys and uses them as his own.:D

Very Possible. He was completely invisible to Locke the first time they met, although Ben could see him. So that tells me old Jacob is a spirit (or has an invisibility cloak) and it makes sense that he'd need to animate an already dead body to be corporeal again. We've seen Smokie take the form of the deceased. It (or Jacob) couldn't re-animate Eko'd brother cause he wasn't much more than a skull and a few long bones. So, Jacob could appear as regular ghosts do, or re-animate a fresh corpse that happens to drop out of the sky.

Actually Locke saw him the first time.

And he didn't take the shape of Horace at all, did you not
watch the episode? Horace was part of Locke's dream, and
talked about Jacob even in the third person. And the writers
already confirmed how Christian is appearing, he is not Jacob
under guise. If he was, why would he say I can speak FOR him.
