Yeah, but his point is that the island would have never been visible if it weren't for Locke preventing the numbers from being put in. They also wouldn't be forced to fight for their lives like this against Widmore's goons.

Lost and alive...instead of found and dead. Dodging bullets and rpg's wouldn't my idea of a good time. Dodging the smoke monster wouldn't be either, but it is calculated...you don't really dodge it if it isn't looking for you.

well, demond and locke looking back - if they had not done this then the island would not have been visible etc...however, at the time, locke thought he was doing the right thing.
